Grand Laureate David Burton

Nicknames: Master Advisor of Evar, The Lord of Flowers, The Founder, and The Man of Science.

Grand Laureate David Burton, the last Master Advisor of Ebon and the first of Evar. He founded the first wax-coated coats and uniforms for the alchemists and designed the first plague masks, relying on a selection of flora believed to fight plagues, such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano. With the settling of Dophia, he ensured Evar built sewers in their cities, securing clean water tables and waste disposal. He ensured safer architectural designs for dense-population housing and used the Alchemical Guild’s resources to build apartments for their support staff. He set standards for scientific research and discovery within the Guild, along with basic hygiene and sterilization practices for the surgeon orders.

David Burton was slight and balding, but he didn’t fight the inevitable or try to hide what was evident. He has a curled mustache and a patchy beard. Bespectacled in a black waxed robe and, when out of office, generally in a full-face wrap over a leather mask. Seen carrying a bandolier of scrolls, knives, and a bronze-capped baton.
