Grand Laureate Esmee Baldwin, Master Advisor of Evar’s alchemical order. She took the order, which was devastated when their uniforms failed to protect them against a ravaging plague that cut across Evar. She redesigned the suits to better protect against airborne pathogens and fluid transfer, while remaining tough enough to prevent minor cuts from breaching the suit. She developed the new standard carbon filters for the Alchemist gasmask, has extensively studied disease vectors, and formed foundational studies on microscopic entities that may be used to make plagues and general disease. She helped create formula food for babies to supplement the diets of mothers who struggle to produce enough milk or find feeding painful, and the Guild provides it at near cost to support humanity’s growth. For her work and services to the crown in rebuilding the Guild of Arcana and Chemistry in Evar, she has a formal knighthood.

Esmee Baldwin is a stern, middle-aged woman, tall and lanky, with greying hair kept in a bun. The chemical and wax layered leather uniform, along with a similarly treated overcoat. She wears her mask only on duty, spending much of her time managing the Guild, conducting research, and keeping the world spinning against the ideocracy of the masses. She has cold, stone-grey eyes and skin that has taken on a sickly pallor from decades of wearing the heavy alchemists’ uniforms. She keeps a sword at her side along with a double-barreled pistol with paper cartridges.
