Markaris
‘The we shall stand above the whips and crowns of petty men.’
Once we were slaves to Kings and Gods, once we bled our wealth to merchants and nobles whose only value was in their birth. The Markaris overthrew the Astarte in Marieland, slaughtered those leaders who tried to return monarchy, theocracy, and give the wealth of the land to a select few. Now they are ruled by Grand General Thomas Steinherz supreme commander and leader of Markaris controlled Marieland. They have seized the factories of the old Astarte, claimed the resources of the once wealthy, Astarte party members, and property. They raised a large militant force, well-armed, and produced their own designs of arms, armor, and vehicles. They rely on large mass infantry supported by powerful tanks and air support. The Markaris provides free higher education to those who can pass their specialized aptitude tests allowing access to a much larger pool of talent for intellectual careers.
Markaris has influence in Marieland and Talis’Vrok.
Markaris power is held by Grand General Thomas Steinherz, Each Union sect including Munitions and Arms, Education, Industry, Agriculture, Martial, Medical, Intellectual, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Housing.
The Markaris do not hold to currency and refuse to trade with other nations relying on the large continent they control vast resources to fund its glorious utopian dreams. They have a large population, established industry, and have set up intricate infrastructure for moving troops and supplies across Marieland. Their continent is heavily fortified with bunkers, tunnel systems, coastal forts, and concealed anti-air installations, making it difficult to invade. Markaris relies on population dense cities and large communal farms to maintain its population. Most Markaris cities are designed to be divided into walkable communities to conserve fuel and vehicles, and citizens are required to maintain personal gardens to supplement household food. Markaris does struggle projecting its influence off its mainland and generally can’t maintain proper logistics from its established lines.
