Writing Worlds with Words

Villains of Bastille: Atlas, The Flying Elbow.

Atlas: Supervillain, Atlas, Belt of Power.

Nicknames: Atlas, The Flying Elbow, The Back Breaker.

Atlas is not a person; it is a belt, the Dophia Continental Wrestling Federation Championship Belt infected with Narratite. Whoever wears it now swells with the strength of everyone who’s held the belt before them, making them a hulking brickhouse. Their eccentricities are magnified, and they become a buffed-up caricature of themselves. The Belt is a compilation of all the former personalities in minor roles to the current host’s main billing, but the belt is owned and controlled by Overwatch.

Atlas has copied the strength and ability of everyone who has held the belt before. Compiling Narrative powers, compounding strength, endurance, martial and theatrical skills. Atlas is invulnerable to all but magic, narrative power, and tech, can magnify his strength through dirt and rock, channel true invulnerability for short bursts, and disable friction and air resistance, allowing him to slide at speed across surfaces and move unhindered by wind. Atlas is a showman at heart and often must make the flashy move, drawn to appeasing whatever crowd might form in his fights. He is one of the best martial artists, having dozens of wrestling champions, and is a master of theatrics, hyping his fans up to augment his considerable strength even further. Disappointment can drain his strength, and he has few options for dealing with flying opponents, which is why Skin Graft is Overwatch’s main enforcer.
