Writing Worlds with Words

Survivors of Sarabrand: Kaylynn Fiochmhar, The Arcane Fist.

Kaylynn Fíochmhar: Cook, Brewer, Brawler.

Nicknames: The Ironheart, The Fierce Hair, The Fire Blessed, The Arcane Fist, and The Lady of Drink.

Kaylynn was once an adventurer, an Arcane Fist delivering brutal punches infused with raw magic. Trained in sword and shield, armor, and combat tactics, she joined her fellow Gallus against the Evari and their Norgathi and Norish allies. She beat her foes to death with fists of fire and ice. She killed dozens; she fought until her skin charred, her knuckles wore down to mangled bone, and her body could not move, and men continued to rotate in, their wounds healed by words of divine power. They had beaten her bloodier, stripped her, and bound her to a cross with rope wrapped in thorny vines. They left her to die from suffocation and exposure upon the cross on an empty road with only her dead comrades as company. When her throat cracked from dehydration, her body did not have the strength to so much as open her eyes. Drama came to her with a deal, and she bought her life with damnation. She has taken up learning to cook and brew amid the eternity and unfathomable flow of time on Sarabrand. Decades passing in seconds, seconds in hours; she serves as one of the main caretakers of the main Cara Lugar safe houses, cooking and brewing drinks for survivors who contribute to the sanctum. Her fists are brutal weapons still, but such close-quarter weapons are risky against the unyielding undead, with their infectious blood and saliva a constant threat.

Kaylynn is tall, athletically built, pretty, quite top-heavy, with hair the orange of autumn leaves or maybe closer to polished copper. She has moss-green eyes, pale, freckled skin, and a crooked grin. She enjoys dressing up, pretty dresses, intricate hairstyles, using the resources of the old nobility to doll her up. She slits the sides of her dresses, making them easy to tear off on a whim to ready herself for combat. She always wears trousers under her dresses but often ends up fighting in a chemise cut off at the waist so as not to restrict her movement.  When setting off for battle, she does dawn a breastplate, gauntlets, pauldrons, and greaves.
