The Thieves Guild of Cana Lugar.
The Thieves Guild of Cana Lugar on Sarabrand consists of several separate gangs that have joined together and divided the various sectors of the underworld into their specialized groups. They are led by several legendary leaders: Grand Master Marco Thieben of the Whispers, Master Tao the Dragon of the White Mantis, Mistress Lin Weaver and Master Tomar Windgate of the Blue Sparrows, Mistress Alice Heartwood of the Tree Frogs, and Mistress Nina Verbina of the Tunnel Rats.
The Whispers are a group of hand-picked, trusty, and combat-hardened members from the other gangs selected to guard the Inner Sanctum of the Guild Masters and protect their person. They wear uniforms sporting the colors of the other gangs to unify them as the enforcers of the Guild Master’s orders. They skulk around the heavy shadows, tight corridors, and blind corners of the sanctums deep in the Rat Ways and past deadly trap gauntlets.
The White Mantis is a gang of men and women trained to break men with their bare hands. They hurt people, solve problems, and enforce the territory of the Guild. The Mantis are trained by Master Tao in various forms of martial arts and serve as the muscle behind the Guild. They stand as enforcers driving off other gangs, collecting loans, and guarding important areas of the Guild. After the Whispers, they are the smallest gang and often draw in members from other Gangs for added numbers. They are also trained in weapons from Dodicerous, including the Ashike Katana, Wae Jian, and Lyngurd Danda Pata. They wear white hooded cloaks, pants, sandals, and women wear a basic wrap around their chest. Their upper torso and arms are decorated in tattoos they earn from serving the Mantis.
The Blue Sparrows are the main gang in the Guild by numbers. Composed of men and women in blue clothing, and a mixture of gambeson, leather armor, and chainmail. They handle actual theft, robberies, fencing, and various fronts used to store and move stolen and illicit goods. They handle guarding more general areas of Guild territory that don’t require the Mantis and often fill in for the Mantis when they don’t have the numbers to perform their full duties.
The Tree Frogs are exclusively female and run brothels, the drug trade, and maintain a hold on clubs and bars throughout the city. They wear green and varying amounts of leather and padded armor, generally keeping their distance with light bows, crossbows, and thrown weapons. They’re notorious for luring men into situations where they end up with a lot less money and in a worse place.
The Tunnel rats recruit both women and men with a preference for shorter people and children. They rule the sewers, docks, and forgotten places and encouraged the building of the Rat Ways. They are masters of stealth and run the smuggling in, out, and through the city. They provide much of the wares for the Blue Sparrows and Tree Frogs and are known for their hit-and-run tactics, wearing down their enemies before vanishing and others attacking from the rear.
The Rat Ways are a collection of tunnels secretly excavated under the city and reinforced with bricks, with small private areas for the Guild’s use. The most notorious is the Inner Sanctum where the Guild Masters meet and live. Garn has restored a former lounge and lives out of it, having added to it a large labyrinth to challenge those who wish to take on the incredibly stupid ingenuity and cunning of the great Garn. The Rat Ways have tunnels that lead out of the city to secret boat launches and into various businesses and homes across the city, allowing the gang to move relatively undetected.
