Writing Worlds with Words

Heroes of Bastille: Ash Garrison, Rampart.

Ash Garrison: Superhero, Rampart, Brickhouse, and Shield of the People.

Nicknames: Rampart, The Defender, The Unbreakable.

Ash Garrison, the hero known as Rampart, the leader of the League’s hero team, the Knights Vigilant. An Icon, an Image, standing at seven feet tall, with the physique of a fantastic hero, long flowing blonde hair, clad in golden plate armor, a smile that could melt ice, and eyes of crystal blue that feel like a cool summer breeze for the soul. Rampart wears a tattered flag as a cape, the visage of a ruined Freian flag, carried by the Freian resistance and taken up by the new Freian military forces, who drove out the last of the occupation forces with the fall of their empire. Rampart does not maintain a secret identity.

The Rampart does not break, the Rampart is safety, the Rampart is defiance against evil. The Rampart is a symbol, an icon; he carries the people’s hearts on his shoulders. Advocates for reforms to help stop crime at the source, rehabilitate criminals, and provide them paths forward to legal lives. He is an icon against corruption, corporate greed, and wasteful government spending, and is loved by the people and despised by people in power. The Rampart can form barriers of pure Narratite, unbreakable, and used equally in defense and offense, pinning foes, blocking attacks, and splitting those he decides are irredeemable into pieces. He has a minor invulnerability and super strength. His barriers can be made from 10-by-10 flat square sheets. Indestructible, and he can freeze only four in space at a time; others are affected like a sheet of heavy metal. He has filled the spiritual space the Nine once held in the League, but he refuses to take his leadership role, as he refuses to make himself an equal to the legend. Rampart relies on his partner, a C-Horse named Horseradish, for his mobility.
