Relics of the Dead Age.
*Relics are objects that have absorbed personality, tragedy, raw emotion, and other extremes from mortal and divine life. They gain power from those who once held them and are a major source of power among those evading the Astarte forces. *
Relic Name: Shiroyama.
Type: Misc.
Origin Class: Fall of the Shogun.
Appearance:
The once Katana of the last Shogun of the Vigint Empire. This beautiful masterpiece of a weapon has been broken off about a half foot from the edge of the habaki. Dragon scales of every color have been softened and layered carefully along the mune to the hamon to add a beautiful symbol of power to this once ceremonial symbol of Martial power. Each scale is treated to prevent it from compromising the metal’s flexibility. The blended alloy of iron and metals from outerplanar gives the visible part of the blade a deep violet color. The tsuba is forged from gold, with jade idols of the sacred Vigint nature spirits embedded in it. The handle has a dragon-skin covering wrapped in silk, with a cord of spun hair from each dead shogunate that came before. A tassel runs from the kashira, lacing through a feather from each of the tengu clans native to Dodicerous. When the Axandrians pushed in on the Shogun’s fortress, Ryuu burning around it, as the main elements of the Astarte forces closed in, the Shogun climbed upon his violet dragon and, with his 300 remaining samurai guard, charged with what remnant forces had retreated to the safety of the castle in one final glorious charge. The Shogun Ryuu Yuta met the sunrise in a sunset worth of red.
Phenomenal Traits:
To the Last Man: Over three hundred Vigint charged the enemy line in defiance. They died, but not alone, and the Shogun is said to have been fighting ankle deep in crimson, tripping over the red-clad Axandrian corpses, sword broken but still deadly. Those channeling the power of the Shiroyama in desperation. When an ally has died, they can channel the strength of the Shogun and his 300 elite samurai, cutting through almost anything in one glorious burst of mortal-born wrath.
Banzai: One does not know how fast they can run until they must charge death itself, one does not know how strong they are until they fight through complete exertion on nothing but adrenaline, one does not know defiance until you’ve stood before a tsunami of evil and met it on your feet. Those channeling this relic can, for brief moments, borrow the speed of a desperate charge, the hysterical strength of dying men, and the manic courage of a suicidal charge. The wielder is capable of brief bursts of inhuman speed and flurries of bladed swipes.
