The Centian are towering, building-sized humanoid reptiles serving as the brute leaders of the Centian Empire. They rule through overwhelming brute force, fear, and a developing ethos of strength and ability in war. Suppressing its less physically capable vassal species by elevating more violent ones as enforcers. The Centian rely on the small physically vulnerable Darien for their more intellectual needs, and the symbiotic relationship combines immense brawn with collective hive intelligence.
The Centian originates from the world Centhia, each one a walking tank capable of nearly ignoring small arms fire, traversing buildings, and serving as a fortress on the move. Centian males average 40 feet in height, while females average 60 feet in height. They have heavy, armored scales, generally dull grey; males grow impressive horns.
The Centian are stronger than any other species in Taurus, naturally armored, and able to recover from wounds rapidly. Centians can turn off their pain receptors, enter a bio-stasis to preserve calories, slow bleeding, and recover from wounds. They have limited eyesight and rely on their heightened sense of smell, along with specialized organs for detecting air vibrations. They have developed a form of echolocation using roars to read the vibrations they can register for judging distances and shapes.
The Centian are brutes serving less as leaders and more as concentrations of force. They rely on the incorporation of technology from conquered species, tribute, and trade to keep their Empire remotely stable, though the Darian tend to make up the more capable Leadership of the Empire.
