Known as Fern, The Shield, The He Who Shelters, The Defender, The Preservation, and The Bold Prince.
Fern has soft fern-green skin, and silvery scales tipped with barbs have been hammered into his flesh, giving him light armor along his arms and chest. He has long, shiny white hair like spider silk, his antlers decorated with small metal disks like tiny bucklers. Generally wearing heavy fairy metal plate mail with delicate lacework around the abdomen that shows off the standard Oberous perfect six-pack. He wields twin shields, each a tower covered in spikes on the front and blades on the sides, allowing him to protect those around him and batter, slash, and pierce his foes. He wears a simple Oberousian helmet which sacrifices some protection for the ability to fit with their antlers. He speaks in the clash of steel, the whispers of a parent trying to calm down a child, and the warm rustle of a blanket on a cold night.
Fern is protective, clingy, but submissive to his queen. He can be annoyingly polite, considerate, and nice, leaving some feeling as if his over-sincerity might be mockery. Some describe him as the Life Court’s Golden Retriever, as he is the original Ithian Himbo and can be a bit oblivious at times. He is the beloved protector and lover of Queen Iris Oassi. He abhors unneeded suffering and tries to make his foes die as quickly and painlessly as possible. Willow absolutely despises Fern, as he’s either too obvious or too dim to understand his taunts, leaving the Prince of Death frustrated in addition to being punched in the face with a tower shield.
