The Ashike Touit Undō
‘From the ashes we rise again.’
The Ashike Unification Movement led by old world aristocracy, Astarte Vigint Auxiliary forces, and those who dream of the romanticized wonders of what was lost. The overthrowing of the Astarte was easy enough they had drawn much of their forces out to protect the homeland, and what was left was overrun by angry mobs and Astarte forces choosing their homeland over the foreign occupation. Now the ATU rises with nationalist rhetoric, militarism, and dreams of reconquering Dodicerous. Soldiers loyal to the new Shogun Takahashi Hiroto have taken to model themselves as the new Samurai class above the civilian population. They promise a restoration of culture, of territory, of status, and way of life lost when they were conquered by the Astarte.
The ATU holds the Ashike Archipelago north of the mainland of Dodicerous and holds several colonies across Dodicerous.
The ATU power is held in a military dictatorship under the Shogun supported by a military junta of ascended new aristocratic Daimyo who serve as governors and generals. Due to regular infighting Daimyo ranking and statuses regularly shift leaving Takahashi Hiroto as the only stable point of leadership.
The ATU has stockpiles of Astarte weapons and under the former occupation became heavily industrialized amassing weapons and a powerful naval force. With a warrior cast elevating soldiers, heavy cultural emphasis in a warrior ethos, and heavy indoctrination into state beliefs the ATU forces are fanatical soldiers willing to die then cede ground. They have highly standardized equipment allowing them to keep their relatively limited manpower is well supplied with weapons and supported by a powerful navy. They have limited armor support on land.
