The First Sons.
The Motto.
‘The first to rise is the last to fall.’
The Clan.
The first and possibly most powerful of the Vampire Clans formed by the ancient Septrinian. It is believed the Endlos Leere, mythical King of the Vampires, was their first. The First Sons rule over the Ashlands of Talis’Vrok, fighting for dominance against Liches, Septrinian, Dragons, and their fellow Vampires. They wield the foundations of power, being politically adept, physically powerful, intelligent, cunning, and blessed with magic. They yield to the whims only of the Ash, binding their time until the prophesied return of their King, who will unite the Clans and remake the world in his image. While their clan is known as the First Sons, they do have both genders in their ranks. They are cold, dispassionate, and domineering creatures. While most clans stem from the corruption of a soul, the Sons are a circumvention of it entirely, leaving them all empty, with endless hunger and pride.
The Hunger.
The First Sons feed on blood, specifically seeking the youthful, as their bodies rot and decay and can only be restored with the vitality of the youth. The blood from older victims can cause faster aging in First Sons, and the consumption of corpse blood can cause severe illness or even destruction.
The Power.
The First Sons have heightened senses of sight, hearing, and smell. They are supernaturally strong, able to lift roughly six times their body weight without a struggle; they are not fazed by wounds that do not penetrate the heart or brain; they can recover from injuries several times faster than a mortal and have powerful spirits that are difficult to damage. They have natural affinities for Blood and Necromantic magic.
The Beast.
The First Sons can take the form of a massive black-coated lion. Influence, Command, and Control Lions, Gargoyles, and most Undead.
The Bane.
The First Sons are doomed to rot, decay, and age at ten times the rate of their mortal origins. Copper burns the flesh of the First Sons when making direct contact with them; it acts as a poison to their being, its mere presence like the radiating death of uranium. While direct sunlight weakens them, it does not cause damage, leaving them with the sensation of a nasty sunburn when struck by any Holy Light such as Siger. They can be stunned by penetrating their heart or brain with wood, killed if pierced by copper, or if either is completely destroyed; unlike most vampires, a decapitation is not enough to kill a First Son. They are moderately vulnerable to fire. Remains should be buried in salt, copper dust, and oils from Pine, Cedar, or Teak.
The Face.
The First Sons lose all skin pigmentation when turned. Their hair lightens but does not lose its full color. Their eyes turn milky white with burning red irises, and their canines grow into full-fledged fangs. They quickly lose excess weight and have the cold, preserved perfection of a corpse prepared for an open casket funeral. First Sons that neglect their health are often left as flesh-coated skeletons or, in the worst cases, as skeletons with a beating heart and pulsing brain caught in spiderwebs of magic. Rotting flesh clings to bone, and eyes are nothing more than the burning rings of an eclipse’s halo. Writhing maggots rest in the remnants of their pelvic bones.
The Disease.
The First Sons sire new members by cutting open their guts and drawing from their bowels twisted maggots, which, when buried in the flesh of a mortal corpse, reanimate it as a new First Son… devoid of any personality the departed soul carried. They prefer bodies with minds steeped in politics, power, control, and mental ability, for their blood carries might and magic to make up for physical flaws.
The Cure
The First Sons can never be freed from their curse, for there is nothing to free. They are all cursed with nothing but rotting meat from mortality.
