Gods of Ithia Full: Mealis, the Lady of Light.

True Name: Mealis

Persona Name: Mealis

Other Personas: Mealma and Mikarum.

Greater Fate of Purity, Dedication, Crusade, and Chastity.

Excerpt: ‘When you have nothing left, when there is no more strength, burn everything you can live without. Every sleight, every vile remark, careless word, every malice, and slung stone. Turn it into fuel, to fight for what remains, for the best of you, for what you keep behind you when danger rears.’ Mealis to the Avenger.

Known across the plane as  Mealis, The Lady of Light, The Lady Crusader, The Pure One, The Mistress of the Purge, The Guiding Light, The Dawn Queen, The Eternal Mercy, The Purifier, The Brilliance, The Scourer of Souls, The Darkbane, The Unyielding God, and the Divine Radiance.

Holy Book: The Book of Crowns, The Tosk og Hal, and the Book of Scales.

The Leader of the Gods of Purity and a member of the Fated Crown, Gods of Order, Dragon Gods, Gods of War, and Gods of Light.

Mealis’ holy symbol is the Maiden’s Prayer –two hands held in prayer, a vine threading between fingers, and a lily blooms between the thumbs.

When active on Ithia, The Caress is a constellation of brilliant white stars forming an open hand beneath the Scarlet Star as if holding aloft some great treasure, something that at its core belongs to Mealis.

Mealis’ Divine Realm is a palace of polished marble, silver, copper, silk, and all things white and pure. Black footprints and marks show that Zatolen is a regular presence in these hallowed halls. While generally kept immaculate, the signs of the many children Zatolen and her have raised have left wear and chaos. The divine throne room is sleek stone with large rugs and two thrones, one corrupted black and one backlit by a ring of captured stars. Large open spaces with few tight areas, great windows, skylights, and open arches let ethereal light flood this endless forbidden castle. Mortality has slipped in with messy rooms of children and a cluttered bedroom full of keepsakes and trinkets from those who own her heart.

Mealis maintains several artifacts of power.

-Salt: A sword of gleaming silver, zebra wood, and silk. A blade of molten silver and crystallized salt, thin, long, delicate. More for thrusting, tearing deep, rather than slashing. It is a bane to evil, darkness, corruption, and vice. It purifies, pulls out the excess, and destroys the irredeemable.

-Ward: A simple wooden kite shield bound in steel. Vines grow across it, rooted in cracks and between boards. Lily flowers speckle it like the fleur-de-lis on a Freian banner. These flowers catch projected energy, forming it into an extra protective barrier to the shield’s already powerful defensive ability. Projectiles seem drawn ever so slightly towards it. It urges violence onto its face, and when the wielder is worn, and beaten, and tired, it projects their will forth from its sides to give further protection to what they hold dear.

-Raiment of Light: Mealis’ sacred armor is bands of pure white light, silk, and sunlight yellow velvet. A corset of silver bands bleeds into a skirt of steel scales, and a dress of cloud splits every few inches into ribbons to allow unrestricted movement. Delicate silver wire forms lace-work gauntlets and boots. No alloy, no impure thing, can penetrate this sacred armor.

-The Herald of the True Born: This gleaming great sword of steel was forged by Mealis’s delicate hands. Wreathed in divine fire, it shears through steel and stone like a torch of searing plasma. A weapon whose steel was folded ten thousand times, with each fold she added in War, Power, Purity, Light, Honor, and Draconic might. This sword does not dull; it does not wear; it does not diminish. It is the symbol of humanity, and so long as one human heart still stands in defiance against fate, it remains sharper than wit and durable as an old man’s stubbornness. The sworn weapon of Mealis’ champion, it has been held by the Avenger, the Champion, and every great hero of man… no inhuman creature can stand to wield this sacred blade.

Mealis has countless holy relics, including the Veil of the Maiden, The Relic of Saint Victoria, The Goblet of Saintly Fire, The Shroud of Selimara, The Cloak of Sun, The Nails of Kane, The Lamented Heart, The Star Stones, The Book of the Brightheart David, and The Sacred Crafts of the Siblings(Which she’s very annoyed were stolen)

Mealis views Roses, Cats, and Horses as sacred.

Mealis is beautiful, but unlike her peers, she maintains a mortal beauty, not some unearthly wonder. She maintains a reachable beauty, something to aspire towards, not an unreachable star. She has soft skin, pale in places, with a sun-kissed face covered in freckles. Thin with light muscle, more a gymnastic build than that of a warrior brute. She looks delicate as porcelain but fights like a whole pride of lions. She maintains an immaculate appearance in brilliant togas, dresses, or her full armored regalia. The only things that show her divinity are her eyes, which burn with Famill like the breaking dawn shattering night, and a mane of great golden curls that look like they hold captured sunlight. She radiates light that burns the flesh of evil, impure, and inhuman things and often leaves rooms she visits bleached with light. Her light soothes and calms the innocent, gives hope to the wavering, and solidifies the wills of the conflicted. She is stubborn, unwavering, and never quitting. She has been known to fight past exhaustion, bloodied, body broken, but her spirit is still unwilling to waver. She is inhuman in her dedication to purity, but when her husband or children are present, she becomes far more mortal.

Mealis grants her divine servants the power to channel searing light, detect intent, suppress or cause pain, and cast general protective spells.

Mealis hosts the Day of Respite, where humans fast and spend time relaxing. No work is allowed, and people enjoy games, extra sleep, and time with family. Swarms of C-Horses are sent forth to perform tasks that are absolutely needed.

Mealis is worshipped primarily by humans, but others also give her patronage. Crusaders, soldiers, holy orders, clergy, smiths, alchemists, chemists, tanners, and any other profession where purity matters worship her. Worshippers gather every Revansday at her temples for hour-long sessions of preaching, communal announcements, social gatherings, and meetings for local problems.  She has traveling priests who visit the homes of worshippers too old or enfeebled to visit the temple, bringing food and succor to the poor.

Mealis accepts sacrifices to her temples in coins to fund charitable causes, fund the armies of the faith, and maintain temples. She also accepts sacrifices of the spirit, casting off bad habits, breaking off toxic relationships, and bettering yourself.

Zatolen’s Values
