The Arkayian are the most technologically advanced species in the galaxy. Highly independent with few subordinate species to fill niches. The Arkayian led the Technostate of Arkay. Arkay is led by the intelligent, wise, and diligent. The Arkayian have a large, semi-automated defense force and advanced computational systems, and live in symbiosis with advanced AI, SI, and FSI.
The Arkayian originate from the world of Arkay, formed through superior technology, worship of the intellect, and service to the community. Males average 5’7 in height while females average 3’9 in height. Arkayian males grow long, straight horns, while females have a ridge of horns like a tiara along the top of their forehead. Arkayians have thin scales that come in colors such as steel, grey, gold, slate, rust, copper, and some appear oily and prismatic.
The Arkayian brain structure enables advanced intellectual pursuits and, unlike that of humans, seems capable of restoring itself indefinitely. They have a large percentage of an arcane and psionic-capable population. They are physically weaker than most species but have perfected personal shielding and retain agility to be vicious close-range fighters with their lightning weapons.
The Arkayian Society is post-scarcity, focused on intellectual, social, and creative ascension over martial dominance. They mostly keep to themselves, with powerful automated defense systems, armadas of semi-automated ships, and supplemented drone and robotic forces. It is unclear whether the Arkayian or the Griel created the FTL drive first, but current technology means the Arkayian have the most accurate and safest FTL drives. The Arkayian specializes in Computing, Shields, FTL drives, and electric projecting weapons.
