*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods, are divided into Solnatus, who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi, who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus, who serve the Fates.
The Orbisliberi of Kaxis are the Shi no Iro. Small insects that look like a mixture of an extra fuzzy moth, a butterfly with wings like stained glass, and trailing ribbons of color. Each Shi no Iro is unique and represents a living mortal soul. The Iro starts out pure white, and as the soul they’re bound to grow, live, and experience life, they gain in color. Each Iro develops a unique pattern and coloration, glowing with the vitality and passion for life.
The Shi no Iro represents the color of a life lived, the vitality of a soul, the passion, the pains, the victories; they are the canvas of mortal life. They turn into hourglasses that mark the mortal lifespan. When their mortal dies, they leave Kaxis’ care to find a place with Dragoul to be forever remembered.
The Shi no Iro serves as an embodied list of mortal souls, a symbol of lives lived, and a helper of Kaxis. They turn into an hourglass that tracks the lifespans of mortal souls. Kaxis can pause a life by turning it sideways. Sometimes Kaxis allows mortals to spy his colors, and they create beautiful displays of light and life.
The Shi no Iro do not hold rank or status.
