Dreithite Masters of the distant stars, taker of slaves, bender of genetics, masters of mind, magic, and technology. Cruel and vicious; they spread across the distant galaxy like the vines of ivy. All shall kneel before them in subjugation.  

The Merko originated in the world of Merrel, where they shared it with their cousin species, the Dreikorian. Males average 6 feet in height, while females average 5 feet and seven inches. They have pale skin, black eyes, and hair in black, orange, red, and brown. Female hair tends to be brighter in color. 

Merko are highly intelligent, with a cultural fascination with genetic augmentation, the creation of artificial species, and the modification of slave species to fill specific roles. They have an open affinity for magic and psionics, with the highest number of arcane-capable individuals.  

Merko live in a hedonistic society where the powerful and capable rule what they can seize. Powerful arcanists and psions rule along with cunning manipulators who turn foes against each other and weave intricate alliances. They find mental pursuits to be peak entertainment and thus press into scientific inquiry with little or no moral restraint, with overwhelming zeal. 

The Dreikorian a cousin species of the Merko originated from Merrel. Males average 10 feet in height, while females average 7 feet. They are large, bulky, with thick brow ridges. They have pale skin, thick tusks, and grow more body hair than their cousins. They have black eyes, and their hair comes in black, orange, red, and brown. Male eyes become colorful during cold periods when they are prone to mating rituals.  

Dreikorian are brutes, less civilized, and best described as space orcs. They are extremely strong, durable, and their bodies develop muscle mass rapidly. Their skin produces specialized cells that help close wounds rapidly, and their bones are thicker than those of most species. 

The Dreikorian revel in violence, bloodshed, and pursuits of pleasure. They have brutal cultures kept in line by the Merko, who use them as enforcers, shock troops, and second-class citizens above all of the other acquisitions of the Merko Empire. They are supplied with entertainment, weapons, and resources to maintain their allegiance and to use them as a blunt-force instrument.
