The Leader of the Gods of Magic.
Septriss’s holy symbol is the Trinity of Knowledge – An Opened Book for all that is known, A closed scroll for all our ignorance in its crease, and a Quill resting across it for all that can yet be changed.
When active on Ithia, which is whenever magic is being used on Ithia, he is represented by his two remaining moons, Saffron and Maroon. The black scar on the Skyveil where Azure fell from seems to still hold some influence.
Septriss’ divine realm is a great spiraling library that rises in a cone, each layer shrinking till it reaches the point, which is his personal study. Endless shelves of books, scrolls, stone slabs, and arcane artifacts stretch downward seemingly on an infinite stretch. Here, every book ever written is kept, including those from previous cycles, other worlds, and phases of existence. His study is full of strange, indescribable instruments: clocks, hourglasses, sundials, and the three moons, suspended from the ceiling to form a triangle.
Septriss maintains one major divine artifact, the Staff of Three Moons.
-The Staff of Three Moons is a gnarled wooden stave that branches into three twisting arms, each of which holds an orb resembling the three Moons. The Stave holds unimaginable power and is one of the only means to manipulate time.
Septriss has many holy artifacts collected by mortals, including the three Moonstone Staffs, The Veil of Ancients, The Moonlit Cloak, The Seven Wands, The Sword of the First Son, The Robes of the Three, and the Thirteen Staffs of the Archmage, and The Hat of Arcana are but a few of the most powerful and sacred.
Septriss views Corvids, Dragonflies, and Frankincense as sacred.
Septriss does not conform to the hopes and dreams of mortals below; he is a tall, muscular man with skin as dark as chocolate, but it appears even lighter as lines of Words of Power are scribed in gold ink across every sliver of skin in tiny, cramped runes. Violet cloth spirals up his powerful form, laced together in a robe with golden wire. The Cloth itself is trimmed in mithvalt and silver. Those who can pierce the veil and look upon the words inscribed upon his skin may ascend towards divinity, lichdom, or raving madness. Septriss shaves his head, face, and body clean, leaving him with no visible hair.
Septriss is a brilliant God, stoic and reclusive; he dwells in his divine realm, studying research notes, pondering questions, and otherwise seeking to record all knowledge he can. He is the font of all magic; arcane power flows directly from him to the mortal world below, while divine magic flows through him and then through the god, gifting the divine power. He leaves all mortal affairs to his Avatars.
Septriss does not maintain clergy; his servants are arcanists of all forms.
Septriss celebrates when all three moons would have aligned each year. It is celebrated in different ways but generally involves fireworks, parades, masks, and festival foods.
Septriss is worshipped by almost all arcanists, intellectuals, philosophers, teachers, and students. Few cultures and Gods set their people and followers against Septriss’ followers, as most people believe those who control the magic control their people.
Septriss holds sacred rites on the movement of the moons. His servants pay close attention to the phases of the Moons, their position in the sky, and the brilliance of their light.
The act of sacrifice for Septriss is both physical and mental; the followers of Septriss burn incense, clear their minds of all distractions, and seek to open their minds to the depthless mind of Septriss. It is a clearing of thoughts, a decluttering of the mind, and a communion with Septriss.
