*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods, are divided into Solnatus, who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi, who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus, who serve the Fates.  

The Astrumortus of Kalm are the Grey Ones. The Grey Ones are tall, inhumanly thin, looking like nothing more than skin and bone. They have no eyes, too long arms that reach to their ankles when standing straight up, and sharp, clawed fingers. Their faces are twisted into too-wide smiles, their teeth like an anglerfish’s. They clink with every step, and beneath their robes, they wear armor of coins hammered together like extremely impractical scalemail.  
 

The Grey Ones are dangerous in close quarters; their claws can cut through any magical defense, their saliva is extremely septic and toxic, and their teeth each injects venom when biting a victim, making their bite almost certain death. Their armor is fairly durable and cannot be penetrated by iron or steel; it crumbles when the Grey One wearing it dies. They can produce power, wealth, and create entirely new people and creatures, but only when making a binding Deal.  

The Grey Ones are brokers, lesser deal makers, loan sharks, and thugs of Kalm’s will. They seek people wanting to make smaller bargains than one might with Kalm. They lend money at interest, recover debts for others, and serve as thugs when Kalm needs them. 

The Grey Ones come in ranks of Status and Power, including Faust, Djinn, Fiend, and Paw.
