Writing Worlds with Words

Outsiders of Ithia: The Stoneborne Shapers of Worlds.

*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods, are divided into Solnatus, who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi, who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus, who serve the Fates.

The Astrumortus of Dwar’Vic are the Stoneborne. Large, stout beings of living stone tasked with shaping Ithia, building new land masses, managing volcanoes, maintaining the landscapes, and guarding against soil erosion. These walking titans of earth, rock, and unrefined metals trudge across the world like very careful avalanches. They tend to grow mossy beards and hair of vines, have eyes of molten iron, and great nimble hands for shaping things.

The Stoneborne are powerful and nearly unbreakable, weathering any storm. Their bodies can shift their mass around to rebuild body parts and fill wounds. The only way to slay a Stoneborne is to shatter their heart stone. They are master geomancers, shaping earth and stone and rerouting entire rivers with their powerful hands. They can hold sand and water in their open hands, safely handle red-hot metal, and are unaffected by most caustic materials.

The Stoneborne are craftsmen of worlds, of planes, shapers of land and beds for great oceans to come. They maintain Ithia’s terrain the best they can, combat erosion, and keep lands fertile. They tend to natural lands and are close allies with the Green Elves. Stoneborne, for all their physical might, are rarely willing to engage in combat and seek crafts almost exclusively.

The Stoneborne form ranks of power and status, including World Forge, World Strider, Mountain Shaper, and Plain Stomper.
