*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods, are divided into Solnatus, who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi, who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus, who serve the Fates.
The Astrumortus of Malisara are the Ladies of the Woods. Ladies of the Wood or Green Hags are creatures of natural power and dominion over wild places. The Ladies of the Wood come in three forms: Will, Are, and Were. Creatures of what is to be, what is, and what is or the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. The Maidens are beautiful, immortal creatures with skin like the softest of petals in the color of bright spring blooms. They lack physical ability and power, but have such potential and ascend to replace the Mother or Crone if they die, splitting a new Lady of the Woods to make a new Maiden. They have long sunflower-yellow hair with black circles, giving them an appearance of a cluster of flowers from behind. They have long pointed ears that curve like sickles, and too large eyes, all the red of roses and blood. Mothers are beautiful, mature, and at the peak of physical strength and middling power. They have hair that is half as long as the Maidens’ and the color of autumn leaves. They are the tallest of the three and the most resilient to physical force; their ears are like the blades of a kama, their eyes like hard walnuts. The Crones wield immense power but are fading things in all that is physical. They are withered, with loose skin over brittle bone, eyes coated in frosted mist, and hair brittle and white. Their skin is the color of barren, dry earth.
The Ladies of the Wood are Malisara’s personal agents, various Trinities serving different aspects of her. Trinities of Spite, Nature, Wildlands, and Venoms make up the majority of her Hags. Some serve their own interests, drawing their most potent magic when the Trinity is together. They seek to undermine society, bring back natural places, and protect wild places.
Each member of the Trinity has specific abilities: the Maiden can divide herself and ascend to Mother or Crone, and is the heart of the Trinity, with her death ensuring its fall. The Mother is physical might, the peak of flesh; she handles the solid side of the Trinity work and wields unnatural strength and endurance. The Crone is of mind, and while vulnerable to the physical, can wield potent magic from the natural world, from lightning to gales of wind; they prefer the summoning of serpents, arachnids, and writhing plant life as it draws less overall attention. A Trinity is strongest when all three members are together and can channel their most terrible magics. The Maiden gives the spell the power of Spirit, the Mother of Body, and the Crone of Mind.
Each Trinity of Green Hags has a Maiden, Mother, and Crone.
