Order Name: Line Keeper
Sub-Orders: –
Patron God/Founder(s): Garon
Renown Members: –
Feats of Power: Line Keepers tend to be more secretive than most casters, as the loss of a bloodline can greatly set back their power.
Restrictions: Genetic Inheritance.
Power Source: Blood.
Forming Source: Words of Power.
The Drain: Line Keepers burn Will Power. They become more impulsive, vulnerable to pain and fear, and vulnerable to magical manipulation. Those who draw on their power too much can be left impulsive husks, unable to focus or follow long-term plans.
Tools of Trade: –
Line Keepers are organized by their family lines. The older members rely on skill to maintain influence as each generation becomes ever more powerful. The main power is inherited by the firstborn son and daughter separately. Those who have kept their lines strong are incredibly powerful, though it is possible to selectively breed lines back into existence from distant cousin branches, though more closely related branches can split off into new Words entirely.
Line Keepers are highly limited in versatility, bound to a single word of power. Their main advantage is that with each generation, the Word grows in power, roughly doubling in strength. The oldest families of Line Keepers wield power beyond mere sorcery. Iron and steel do not seem to affect their magic, but iron and steel in contact with their blood can greatly reduce their magical might.
Line Keepers are generally from noble families and often live in large estates, though some may be in disrepair. Line Keepers are prone to appearing as powerful as possible, socially and economically, which often weighs heavily on their actual wealth. They are creatures who love to radiate power, prestige, and wealth even if they don’t truly have it.
Line Keepers have no formal ranks.
