Uniform: Wizards do not have formal uniforms but generally wear robes treated to protect against fire, corrosive liquids, and other scientific threats. They often wear heavy aprons when in their workshop, heavy glasses to protect their eyes, and tall conical hats with wide brims as a symbol of their status as graduate wizards. Each institute has its own style, and alumni often add their own eccentric flair to their looks.
The Wizards were the first formalized and tamed path of magic. It is heavily rutted with time and wear, and while not the most powerful, it is the most stable path. The Wizards have several larger organizations, but are primarily loosely organized into institutes, colleges, teachers, and alumni. One of the few learned paths so heavily formalized that there is enough literature that one could learn on their own if they could access the books and had the free time to do so. The ultimate pursuit of a wizard is the full mastery of the Words of Power, which means most fully realized wizards are as old as they are powerful.
The Wizards are the oldest and simplest arcane path. Their strength is in their versatility and dedication to mastery of the language of magic. Wizards can range from the weakest of casters to some of the most difficult to engage in arcane battles with, as some of the most versed Wizards can find counters for several different mage paths on their own. Their magic is especially vulnerable to Iron, and they cannot wear any amount of iron or minimal amounts of steel.
Wizards seek to ultimately master the Words of Power, the Tongues of Gods, to understand the world they live in, to see past the meaningless colors to the words, to the very ink that makes up the whole of Ithia. Only the studious, patient, dedicated, or stubborn can survive the tedious trials and teachings of the Colleges of Arcana.
Wizard organizations generally take up whatever structures they can find, but a few more organized ones build towers, stone keeps, and formal universities with protective walls, turrets, and defenses against the unwashed and unlearned masses.
