Heralds are casters who found their way through the tattered Veil, where dead gods lay and drank of their blood. They drank deep of endless power and ascended into powerful casters. Upon becoming a Herald, they stop aging and cannot die from time or mundane disease. Most Heralds are experts in blade and spell and express their magic through music, song, dance, and art in general.
The Herald sings and bolsters allies, diminishes foes, and influences the world. They can cast fantastical spells from reshaping their face and bodies like clay, create images with blades or a brush, and weaponize their voice. They can will themselves through space, expand time, and cloak themselves in shadow. They engage in close quarters and can even animate their swords, fighting free of their hands as living hornets of steel.
Heralds are often made by accident, chance, or the schemes of cults. They have no formal organization or ranks.
