Arcana of Ithia: The Sleepers in Stone.

The Sleepers in Stone are powerful stabilizing forces in the Dwar societies. They possess great power over spirit and arcana. They are venerated, sacrificing their conscious lives for the good of the Dwar. They provide a great deal of protection to Dwar cities, blocking foreign influences in their endless sleep.

The Sleepers in Stone slumber often for their entire adult lives. In their dreams, they wield powerful magic, stabilizing reality, blocking movement through the Veils, amplifying, diminishing, or muting magic in their domain. Some are even powerful enough to block the influence of the Gods from their lands. They weave bravery into their people, bring contentment and joy to hearts, spread terror among invaders, and are masters of their domain, causing rockslides and tunnel collapses, drawing storms towards them, and spreading or absolving illness. Sleepers are given honorary titles of a King in Sleep, and many are carved into idols in Dwarven shrines as divine figures. The Sleepers are the most powerful of the Dwar Casters, protecting their people in eternal sleep upon their stone thrones deep in the hearts of Dwar cities.

Sleepers are naturally occurring mages in the Dwar people. Rare and powerful enough that they are almost always deified into avatars and demi-gods of Dwar’Vic. They have only one rank and are honorary Kings of Dwar, ruling in unending slumber.
