The Paladin is a focused holy warrior who rides with cavalry in armies, protecting temples and sacred sites, guarding pilgrims, and hunting monsters and heretical forces. Their divine magic flows inward or radiates outward as an aura. They are champions of the Gods and serve as the Sword of the Gods in mortal affairs.
Paladins focus their power on strengthening their bodies, minds, and souls. They fill themselves with faith, dedication, and piety until it radiates as an aura of divine power, causing the will of their God to affect foe and/or friend around them. Paladins do not bow to enchantment or corrupting spells, they do not waver against superior force, they meet certain death in glorious defiance, and in the end walk with Kaxis as old friends in acceptance of their martyrdom.
Paladins have simpler but more rigid ranks chosen by their divine patrons. Some Paladin orders serve across Gods, alliances, or self-made points of balance between opposite but needed forces. Each Order not directly in service of the Gods maintains its own ranks.
