*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods are divided into Solnatus who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus who serve the Fates. 

The Astrumortus of Vutha are the Gladii Caeli. Demi-giants made of living bronze with holy blue fire running down their backs from their gleaming heads. Black shields cover their torso like little scales, and their eyes gleam like polished sapphires. Their hearts beat in hollows in their chest like living sapphires shielded by a pink heart plate gifted by their master’s heart the Goddess Talisman. Built like the statues of great heroes, they strode through battle as living fortifications.  

The Gladii Caeli are powerful Coelestis Exercitus wreathe themselves holy fire when in battle emitting light that weakens and erodes dark magic, undead, and outsiders. When focused, the Gladii Caeli project large positive shields before them which no evil may pass without great effort. They are incredibly durable able to recover from injuries by devouring stone, metal, and trees.  

The Gladii Caeli are the elite guardians of the Heavens protecting the existing points of access past the Veil. They serve as bulwarks, walking forts, and strong points in holy wars. Few creatures can stand against the might and endurance of a Gladii Caeli. 

The Gladii Caeli if their hearts are broken, shall erode into dust, which is why Talisman covered them in metallic plates to keep them safe. They are stalwart and do not break, they do not route, they feel no fear and will not fallback if outflanked or surrounded making them easy to isolate as they refuse to give ground unless others are endangered. The Gladii Caeli must protect the innocent or defenseless in their presence even if doing so would destroy them. 

The Gladii Caeli come in levels of power and status including Martyr, Hero, Vigilant, and Guardian.
