Dil Fan: God of Sleep and Nightmares.
Known across the plane as Dil Fan, The Waking Wolf, The Long Night, The Waking Dream, The Night Terror, The Shadowy Watcher, The Glowing Eyes, The Wickerman, and the Unrest.
Dil Fan is a member of the Ko’Cai and The Gods of the Mind.
Holy Books: The Book of Suns.
Dil Fan embodies sleep, restlessness, nightmares, and negative dreams. He is the son of Eshtur Mil and Aqel’Iath.
His Symbol is The Wolf – A sheep caught mid-leap in the maw of a shadowy wolf.
When active on Ithia, his divine body is the Wolf a shadowy constellation forming the gaping maw of a wolf. While active and Az Fan isn’t it makes dreams far easier to enter and manipulate. While active, most prophetic dreams occur.
Dil Fan’s divine realm is a place of jagged rough edges, sharp angles, and tall dead trees. One pale dying moon sits in the overcast sky giving forth only enough light to see the darkness. The ragged woods lead up to a dark castle upon a cliffside with a perilous path along the mountains. He sits in a crumbling shadowed throne room where an inky pool sits before him, and he watches the dark dreams of mortals from.
Dil Fan has no relics.
Dil Fan is a strange dream like being with skin like charcoal spotted with flaring embers. Solidified smoke rises like spikes from his back and antlers of twisting branches covered in brambles rise from his head. Stinging nettles run down his back as hair and a lion’s mane of smoke wraps around his neck. His teeth look like the thorns of a black briar. His arms are overly long ending in long claws for grabbing and pulling his victims from their beds.
Dil Fan is a creature of terror and while maliciously gleeful at spreading fear does not actively seek to cause harm like some of the other malicious gods. While seen as an opposing force for his sister, the two siblings are on good terms and almost always get along well. Dil Fan sees his purpose to make people appreciate his sister’s gifts and have his own little terror spreading fun. He grants his divine servants the power to wake creatures from any form of sleep allowing them to break even the power of the Elfshot. They can cloud minds like mind fog of sleep deprivation, cause fatigue, dreamwalk, summon visages of a target’s nightmares, silence voices, and project auras of terror.
Dil Fan is worshipped by those who worship Az Fan as she likes her brother to get worship as well. Those who enjoy spooking and scaring others enjoy worshiping him on their own as well. He is one of the safer and tolerated malicious gods who does not bother with monsters like Haltheris and Kalm. He accepts tribute in the form of inflicting screams and otherwise scaring and even pranking people.
