Gods of Ithia Expanded: Aqel’Iath the Queen of Winter.

Aqel’Iath: Goddess of Winter, Tradition, and Rest.

Known across the plane as Aqel’Iath, The Winter Queen, The Unmoved, The Hibernation, The Frostbringer, The Keeper of Ways, The Tradition, and The Rut Walker.

Aqel’Iath is a member of the Ko’Cai and The Gods of Seasons.

Holy Books: The Book of Suns.

Aqel’Iath is one of the four siblings of the Seasons. She represents Winter, and embodies tradition, slowing, rest, and recovery.

Her Symbol is the Snowflake – A smaller snowflake shape which fits between Eshtur Mil’s symbol and Halm Ior’s.

The Seasonal Siblings do not maintain divine bodies with the sisters only being truly active during their season.

Aqel’Iath’s plane is cold, snow, a small warm cottage with a smokestack. A great glass orb encases it and carries it through beautiful stars, nebula, and galactic shows of light. Aqel’Iath rests in a big comfy chair though the floor has several drains to prevent her home from flooding. Here Aqel’Iath rests during Summer.

Aqel’Iath has no relics.

Aqel’Iath is all cold, icy beauty. Looking less alive and more a master’s sculpture of a goddess formed of ice. Her proportions exaugurated her appearance inhuman and her skin crackling with ice. Her hair is a raging blizzard that blankets all behind her in ice and snow.

Aqel’Iath is calm, lethargic, and tends to procrastinate. Every motion is measured, every action planned, every memory sacred. She keeps things as they are and while she is reluctant to move does hold traditions sacred and will do much to keep them alive. She likes things that are stable, safe, and as they have always been. She dislikes her sister but enjoys the company of her brothers. Halm Ior must often nudge her season out to let in spring. She grants her divine servants control over ice, blessing weapons with frigid frost, protection against heat, spells to bind and hold, power to root oneself and invoke a restorative stasis.

Aqel’Iath only accepts worship during Winter and thus her temples are seasonal. They are thick and dense, often built into the ground for insulation. Some more temperate areas have large glass domes so the stars can show. Her temples are designed to be warm and cozy in winter and while many worship her to keep the winters mild, she closes her temples when her season ends.  She accepts sacrifices of colorful leaves, gourds, and symbols of a passing fall.
