Writing Worlds with Words

Outsiders of Ithia: The Muses the Makers of Music.

*The Celestials or Coelestis Exercitus, servants of the Gods are divided into Solnatus who serve the Seir’Ald, Orbisliberi who serve the Powers, and Astrumortus who serve the Fates.

The Astrumortus of Talisman are the Muses. Tall, beautiful, pale skinned woman with permanently flushed cheeks and ears that roughly resemble butterfly wings with a long trailing point. They have hourglass bodies split in half their upper body floating above their legs with their legs and arms broken at the joints. Musical notes made physical, paint, carved stone, canvas, or other mediums of art made physical hold their broken pieces together. They have sharp teeth, bright puffy pink or blue hair that looks like a waterfall of cotton candy running from their heads and down their back. Wildflowers grow through its mass and delicate dragonfly wings flutter from their backs made of stained-glass.

The Muses are beautiful and talented with divine voices that can carry any note and reach such power they can bring mortals to their knees from sonic power alone. They are capable healers and each Muse in addition to their voice has bardic magic of their specific specialty from painting to sculpting allowing them to paint things into existence or sculpt such realistic statues it breathes life into them.

The Muses are as beautiful as they are powerful and as servants of the first-born Fate are one of the most powerful of the Astrumortus. They lead the Astrumortus and serve as muses for mortal artists bringing creativity and spreading it across mortals to bring them fresh ideas. They also provide musical accompaniment for important events such as fated duels and final stands. They can often be found leading groups of Hippocornasusataurs and Tres Facies.

The Muses are powerful but vulnerable in close quarters with their soft flesh vulnerable to steel if one can reach them.

The Muses come in levels of power and status including Asor, Kithara, Barbiton, and Phorminx.
