The Ascende are giant blobs of living grass, vines, leaves, and flowers. Their hulking torsos are held up by a serpentine mass of nettles. Their heads are built into their shoulders but have no features save their long antenna ending in glowing orbs. They have long thick arms of stone and moss. One of the rarest of the Fae being unable to reproduce only the original thirteen exist.  

The Ascende are not menders of flesh but controllers of soul and essence. They revitalize the spirit and return the life once lost. They greatly reduce the time it takes to revitalize after a death, can bring mortals back to life, break the bindings to essence and soul from things such as Elfshot, and break the magical bindings of undeath. Their powers however fail against Iron wounds on essence. 

The Ascende are seen as the Blessing incarnate of the High Queen, High Priests of her will, able to break the deepest bindings, shatter the Geasa, and revive the dead. They are closely kept by the Fae Queens One in service to each of the other court Queens, three to the High Queen, One to each of the Harai Princesses, and two to the Queen of Life.  

Like most Fae Ascende are eternal and if their mortal body is destroyed, they will reappear at their designated bed. They never age and remain appearing as fresh adults, or whatever age they choose to appear as. Ascende are by order pacifists and put their credo of do no harm to absolution. They will allow their destruction over defending themselves. The Ascende are hated by the Gods of the Dead for their meddling in the affairs of Life and Death. Ascende have the longest period of reformation of the Fae.
