An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.
The Wights are blessed undead of Nil’Brek and Nul’Maar. They are powerful, cunning, and well equipped to spread their undead blessings. They include the Rotterwight, Feederwight, and Wight. Salt holds no effect against Wights, but silver can bypass to some degree against their unnatural skin.
-Rotterwights appear as rotting corpses with six-inch-long claws on each of their fingers. Their skin is moist, pale, and often oozes. Often blind as Rotterwights eyes decay first. They have elongated teeth, and their hair becomes brittle and white. Rotterwights are formed when a victim dies before their soul is fully eroded.
-Feederwights have pale skin, eight-inch-long claws on each finger, extended teeth, and develop extra muscle. Feederwights do not rot like Rotterwights and are warm to the touch. They tend to maintain a certain level of cleanliness, and dress standards. Feederwights have pinpoint red eyes. Feederwights form when their souls erode entirely before their body dies.
-Wights are terrifying undead who appear perfectly mortal, have pulses, are warm to the touch, and do not become pale. Their long deadly claws and fangs are retractable, and their eyes maintain their natural color. Wights were mortal servants of Nil’Brek and or Nul’Maar and through ritual suicide rose as full-fledged wights.
Wights are powerful undead reliant primarily on their claws which are so unnaturally sharp they can sheer through steel, bone, and damage the immortal soul. They are highly resilient, durable, and overwhelmingly strong.
Wights serve the will of Nil’Brek and Nul’Maar. They serve as agents of the Gods of the Undead with lesser wights serving as guardians of holy places and enforcers of their will. Wights are a powerful undead that spread their curse through the ruination of the soul.
Wights are powerful and have few weaknesses. Silver can bypass some of their natural resilience. Holy places not of Nul’Maar or Nil’Brek destroy Rotterwights, repel Feederwights and Wights, though Wights invited into a holy place can enter unmolested.
