The advanced incorporeal undead include the Banshee, Wraith, Phantom, Poe, Spectre, Revenant, and Poltergeist. Whether forming naturally or created by outside forces incorporeal undead are dangerous. Like lesser spirits salt, holy ground, and silver can help protect against most incorporeal undead. They can all phase through solid matter, save the Revenant while possessing its body. 

-The Banshees are the spirits of young women chosen by Marlis to herald the death of heroes, holy servants, royalty, and others important to the whims of the Gods. Banshees tend to be beautiful, young, and possessing a semi-solidity with an ethereal glow.  

-The Wraiths are the tattered remains of a soul, all the things that couldn’t let go of the mortal coil when the soul moved on. Painful memories, scars, lost friends, all the chains that bind the soul shed off and left to linger. They flicker with fading memories and confused visions of past lives. 

-Phantoms and Poes are spirits layered heavily in clothing, robes, with only bright eyes visible under their many hoods. A Poe’s eyes glow bright blue while a Phantom’s glow red. They both carry lanterns with light that matches their eyes. Poes and Phantoms are a misidentification as neither or truly undead. 

-The Specter are souls of a mortal that died extremely violent and tragic deaths. Their ends so painful and miserable that part of the soul lingers consumed by unending pain. The Specter is all shadow and self-realized hatred lashing out against anything living where they dwell. They are drawn to places of severe tragedy where the world carries wounds. 

-The Revenant is a spirit driven by a soul so consumed with vengeance they refused to move on and have possessed their deceased bodies. They pursue their target until their rage burns out their soul or those, they seek vengeance from die. Their eyes are fires of a burning soul held in a rotting body or hovering over severed necks. 

-The Poltergeist is one of the most powerful incorporeal undead being formed by a mortal soul to obsessed with something they could not be moved on. They are bound to objects and structures and never appear as they cannot exist outside of their bound structure. One does not see a Poltergeist as they are one with their obsession. 

Spirits tend to have a wide range of powers and abilities. 

-The Banshee can feel the remaining natural time of mortals. They let forth great wails that can be heard for miles around signaling the death of heroes, kings, and holy servants. While almost never hostile to the living they are employed to protect the holy places of Marlis and their wails can cause anxiety, pain, deafness, and a disconnection of mortal reality in those who feel the direct force of it. A banshee’s kiss is death to anything mortal.  Banshees project a sense of peace of mind and acceptance. 

-Wraiths drain memories from the living with mere touches of their claws. 

-Phantoms and Poes possess the ability to lead wayward spirits. Poes serve Marlis while Phantoms serve Nil’Brek. The Poe can disrupt undead allowing a chance for its soul to be freed at least. Poes attempt to lead spirits towards the afterlife while Phantoms attempt to lead spirits away from the cycle of death to be prey for their dark god.  

-Specters drain lifeforce and youth from those who their claws touch. Wherever they’ve passed through is left without sensation and an eternal cold chill. 

-Revenants are virtually indestructible can command soul fire though using it damages their soul. 

-Poltergeists are powerful entities that can control and animate furniture in their structure, telekinetically control objects, cause hallucination, bind and control undead spirits, trap the souls of the dying, raise undead, bend space and time reconnecting doorways within the house, and restore damages at the stroke of midnight. 

The Banshee, Poe, and Phantom are all servants of Gods and serve as entities in service to or against the reincarnation cycle. Wraiths, Specters, Revenants, and Poltergeists are all naturally forming spirits often driven by pain, suffering, and obsession. Most are powerful obstacles around wounds in reality or centers of obsession.  

No spirit can cross over lines of salt, except a Revenant in its body, and only the Revenant and Banshee can enter holy places. Wraiths are highly vulnerable to both Salt and Holy Places. Poltergeists are vulnerable solely to their Heart which is formed and maintained where they died. places. All spirits are somewhat vulnerable to pure silver.
