Gods of Ithia Expanded: Mara’Dia the Lady of Victory.

Mara’Dia. Goddess of Victory and Whims. 

Known across the Plane as Mara’Dia, The Saint Among Sinners, The Bannerbearer, The Rally, The Lady of Victory, The Hero’s Stand, The Final Hope, The Sword of Victory, and Mistress of Whims. 

Mara’Dia is a member of the Gods of War, Gods of Light, and the Gods of Fire. 

Holy Books: The Book of Suns. 

Mara’Dia is the Goddess of Victory and when the Hero has been disarmed, beaten, and broken. When all that remains is hope Mara’Dia is said to cast down her sword before them and give them strength to fight on. She embodies the whims, the sudden drives that push men to act against evil and malicious beings. 

Her Symbol is the Heart Shield – A heart-shaped kite shield, cracked down the middle but holding together regardless. 

When Active on Ithia, Mara’Dia’s celestial body is the Light in Darkness a brilliant star. Rarely active but when needed it casts light through matter and darkness granting Heroes light where none might reach. Those lost, those seeking justice, and those fighting evil will never be blinded or bound by darkness. 

Mara’Dia’s Divine Realm is a place of light, golden brass, polished nickel, bright colors and brilliance. It is a place of gleaming light and peace of mind. The Hero’s Rest where those too weary to continue life retreat to rest and recover outside of time. It is a place of succor, of healing, a place of quiet contemplation.  

Mara’Dia maintains Nosaser a hand and half sword with golden trim and a wine-red blade with a cherry wood handle wrapped in laurel leaves. When swung it emits an extended blade of light adding ten feet of extra reach to it. 

Mara’Dia is the beauty of Victory, she embodies every great success, every triumphant milestone in life, every struggle overcome. Her skin is bronze with here of golden laurel leaves and ripe pomegranate. Her dress is sewn together from banners of various units that fought against overwhelming odds or died in final stands. Her armor is a makeshift mess of armors hammered into a shimmering breast plate of generations of great general with streaks of bronze, iron, and steel.  

Mara’Dia is a fierce warrior goddess who heralds victory in life and war. She is one of the most level-headed and just deities. She grants her divine servants power to bolster allies and weaken the resolves of foes, blesses weapons and armor, and creates beacons visible only to allies to organize and send mental messages to large amounts of allies over short distances. 

Mara’Dia is worshipped by Heroes, Officers, Generals, Leaders of Men, and Desperate Soldiers facing death. Many seek her wisdom when faced with battles of consciousness. Her temples are built on what were large battlefields as markers for lives lost, victories, and defeats. Her temples are large and beautiful sculpted each stone brick is carved in the likeness of a soldier who died in battle. Smaller shrines are built in palaces where the social elite can pray for victory. She has no prophets.

Columns (Vices) – Defeat, Chaos, Weakness, and Doubt. 

Mara’Dia has numerous orders from the Ladies of the Laurel, The Devout Valiants, The Swords of Mara, The Banners of Evar, The Gold March, and The Company of Laurel and Blood.
