An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.
The Deep Troll stands ten feet tall. Deep trolls are formed from geodes, can reproduce, and can function outside of the Horde. They have leathery hide, thinner than Swamp Trolls, and covered in sharp crystalline spikes on their backs. They have rough knobby skin, no eyes, and large prominent nostrils and mouths to scent the air. They have large ears meant to channel noise into them.
The Deep Troll is as durable with thinner skin than the Swamp Troll but thicker than the Tide Troll. Their blood crystalizes into fragile but sharp crystalline shards stopping bleeding and sealing wounds. Deep Trolls can release subsonic waves to echolocate in their underground dwellings, have superb hearing, and powerful senses of taste which they use to hunt.
The Deep Troll is a feral species with no formal role in the Horde. Often, they’re allowed to breed in paths into the Horde territory to slow, harass, and delay hostile advance.
The Deep Trolls are more bestial than other trolls, vicious, highly territorial, and aggressive. They are actively hostile to Greenskins and anything else humanoid. They don’t work with others and only gather to mate.
