The Fae are immortal and undying creatures and the oldest seem have have lived for dozens of Cycles of existence. The Fae are generally beautiful in their own way though generally on a much smaller scale than the rest of Ithia. They are ruled by their Fae Huntmasters, Lords, Ladies, Princes, Princesses, Queens, and the High Queen Viilnor herself. Though they seem to also be controlled by something more force of nature than even the High Queen, The Dance.
According to notes from Scribe Tir Ore the Fae do not individually evolve but it does appear that the Dance shapes the Fae into producing new Fairykind to fill new niches, threats, and problems. Over the countless tens of billions of years of their existence they have acquired a staggering diversity of Faekind.
According to notes from Scribe Mary Leer the Fae are adorable and that shes found comfort in keeping several as companions over her life span. Fae are drawn to creativity and are mesmerized by music that embodies strong tempos, catchy melodies, and powerful emotion. They are fascinated by paintings, sculptures, and writing and are often found having ordained to squatting in the houses of artists. In fact, the Hall of Heroes itself has to put out traps to keep them from the library and scribe’s work.
According to notes from Scribe Silt the Inked the Fae are very interesting and like to ride the Silt for he is big and ‘fwuffy’ they say. Silt likes friends. Silt finds that Fae are fun and like to play games and often make friends with children and dollidoos. Dollidoos like Fae some Doodle move into Faeland.
According to notes from High Scribe Herald Lionguard that the fae are filthy abominations. They have an uncanny appearance as if they don’t belong in Ithia; that they’re unreal or maybe too real. He best describes them as two artists trying to fit completely different styles from different cultures into the same coherent piece. He believes its conflicting in a way. His final words are that the Fae are godless abominations unfit for interaction with humanity.
Scribe Harrow Yarrow’s studies into Fae lore and history, developed by Matta Cam, that much of the Faekin seem to have been artificially developed to counteract changes in a cycle. Such as the Flos in Flore appear after their records of the first cycle to produce iron and the more commonality of it in the mortal world. Yarrow finds that most creatures that can’t die shouldn’t evolve but there is clear proof of the Fae adjust to outside stimulants. Most Fae seem to also be in an eternal emotional childhood as few can really take things seriously.
High Scribe Vincent Groth believes that the Fae provide a wide variety of alchemical applications and possibly some of the most powerful alchemical ingredients can stem from the Fae. Groth has come to see that many misalign the Fae as he has come to understand they are not inherently evil or vicious. The understanding of Fae culture and its often-violent parts at least partially come down to the fact the Fae are eternal, and most injuries are brief concerns. With out any real consequences for violent actions hes observed that most Fae simply can’t comprehend how fragile mortals are. When a Fae body fails, they reform at a point within hours without any long-term consequences, save for a few sources such as Iron which damages the essence itself.
