An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.
The Deep Goblin is larger than the common goblin standing three feet tall. They are made from various cave fungus, can reproduce, and are feral. They have shorter ears set forward with larger eyes. Their skin is grey white with bioluminescent blood. Their jaws are larger with larger teeth. They have very little sexual dimorphism.
The Deep Goblin is stronger than a Common Goblin, vicious, and physically unable to feel pain. They have exceptional night vision which combined with their bioluminescence allows them to see in otherwise pitch-black spaces. Deep Goblins are known to throw themselves towards a foe recklessly as they can infect corpses to form new Deep Goblins via their spores. Their flesh tends to stick back together when cut sealing wounds with their thick vicious blood that glows brightly in the dark. They are surprisingly strong as their bodies are effectively entirely made of muscle, cartilage and sinew having very few bones. The Deep Goblin’s bite is septic and can spit their septic saliva a good dozen feet often aiming at eyes and open wounds.
The Deep Goblin is a feral creature free from the Horde they live savage almost animalistic lives though some have managed to develop tribal communities.
The Deep Goblins are vulnerable to salt, sunlight, holy energy, and fungicides. They tend to struggle with complex ideas but are quite cunning keeping hostile humanoids from their territories with primitive but devious traps. As they are mostly muscle and cartilage, they are far easier to cut through than most vertebrates.
