The Understanding of Fairy Magic.
Fairy Magic, most Fae have access to these powers, though many of the lower caste species struggle to cast basic Glamours, let alone Geasa, Artru, or Pairc; many lack Foirm altogether. Some creatures, corrupted splinters of the High Queen Viilnor, such as the Sidhe and Tuatha, also possess these abilities.
Glamour, The Mind, The Mind, Glamour comes from the Mind. Glamour flows from the Mind and is used to Manipulate Perceptions, tricking not just mere people but reality itself. It can mimic all the senses from the soft touch of living skin with a pulse, to the smell of mother’s favorite dish, or the sound of a favorite song, or the voice of a long-lost friend. Glamour allows the Fae to alter their appearances; some use it to change their size in their wildly varied society. Glamour allows the Fae to bring fantasy into reality, provided they can maintain the power that sustains and binds it. Glamour from more powerful Fae can, over extended periods, become reality. Glamour requires no power to maintain once bound into reality, though dawn and noon will wear them down and degrade them in the mortal world.
Geasa, The Blood, The Blood, the Geasa flows from the Blood. Geasa are compulsions and bindings that invoke a curse or vow. They can be used in ways similar to a Vutha Blood Oath to bind loyalty, compel, suggest, and restrict actions. A Geasa requires the true name of a victim, the blood of a fairy, and pure intent towards the action. Those who hesitate or second-guess themselves will find their Geasa weak or entirely nonfunctional. Geasa requires some power to maintain and is one of the more commonly used Fae Arts.
Athru, The Hands, The Hands, The Athru acts through the Hands. The Athru are a series of spells for changing the nature and physical state of an object or being. It allows the Fae to change the worlds they inhabit to better support their wills. The Athru allows them to change normal plants into candy and stone plants, turn stones into graves, sow seams of fat and sugar deep into the ground that can be mined. It also allows them to bind victims into new animals or appear as new people. The Athru requires a good deal of power to maintain, and thus most fae do not maintain many, if any at all. Dawns damage the bindings of Athru, making changes on the mortal coil last much shorter times.
Foirm, The Will, The Will, The Foirm manifests through the Will. Foirm is the magic that flows from the High Queen Viilnor and is the most varied of the Fae arts. Many Fae lack access to Foirm, and those who do have spells based on their Fae kind. Foirm is the manifestation of the Fae, from the chaotic magic of the Lagomalum to the healing powers of the Vitafons. Fairy Magic is possibly to acquire for mortals, but using it is dangerous and requires the subjection of a Fairy’s essence, and Fairies do not like being controlled.
Pairc, The Heart, The Heart, The Pairc bleeds from the Heart. Pairc is the art of shaping portals from the Faelands to the mortal coil and other planes. Pairc is difficult, draining, and leaves the Fae who cast it feeling diminished for extended periods. Lagomalum seems to be the least affected by the art of Pairc, but it still can take a toll if used too often.
