Creatures of Ithia Expanded: Dryads the Fae Trees.

An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.

The Dryads are humanoid fae always feminine their skin has the texture and pattern of the tree species they resemble. Their size, shapes, and hair are determined by the tree they take after. They have leafy or needly hair many Dryad grow fruit and often have flowers growing on them.

Dryad can harden their skin and flesh to the consistency of bark and wood though doing so does limit their mobility. They are surprisingly strong. They are powerful wielders of nature magic and can speak and command plants. Dryads create the Wilders animating plants into servants of the Fae Courts.

The Dryad are gardeners, ranchers, and nobles of the Nature Court they tend to be on the air head side and thus are generally not placed in areas of authority that aren’t of importance. They are very apt at running fae farms and orchards and otherwise tending to wildlife. They tend to the many beasts of the Fae Realm.

Like most Fae Dryad are eternal and if their mortal body is destroyed, they will reappear at their designated bed. They never age and remain appearing as fresh adults, or whatever age they choose to appear as. They are very vulnerable to Iron. Dryads are weakened the further away from trees and live plants they get. Dryads become ill and fade in places where little life grows such as deserts, outside of rains, large cities, and arctic lands.
