Holy Books: The Book of Crown and the Book of Suns.
Zerairel son of Solus and Mara’Dia. Zerairel travels the mortal coil in the guise of the infirm, the hungry, the weak, the homeless and gives mortals the chance to show compassion and mercy or… show their monstrous sides and risk the wrath of a God.
His Symbol is The First Step – A walking stick with a bag tied to one side and a waterskin on the other.
Zerairel’s celestial body is the Guiding Hand which is a star that appears in the sky individually for people, always appearing above the destination one seeks while Zerairel is active.
Zerairel’s Divine Realm is a small roadside end which seems to expand as more people visit. It is a place that can only be found by those lost and in great need of succor. A place where the weary can find a moments rest.
Zerairel has the divine relic known as the Walking Stick a long, sanded walking stick with a bag of stones tied to the top, one from every place Zerairel has walked. The stones seem to drain fatigue and bolster energy.
Zerairel appears as an old, weathered man, leaning heavily on his walking stick. He’ll appear as whatever species of the viewer. Zerairel always look tired and worn but with signs that things might become better than they are.
Zerairel is kind and compassionate and encourages those below to see the world. He walks the world’s paths, appearing as a vulnerable traveler, much to the dismay of bandits and monsters who prey on the roads. He does not see himself above the mortals and considers himself the soles that support their journey. Zerairel grants his divine servants unmatched spells to combat fatigue and weariness and refresh the mind, body, and soul. They can create food and water. Lastly, they can grant hastened movement.
Zerairel is worshipped in quite contemplations, bowed heads on dark quiet nights on the road, They gather only when in caravans, marching armies, and large traveling groups. Its almost impossible to praise Zerairel if you’re not tired from a long day of travel. Those who praise Zerairel are close friends with their inner selves and regularly meditate and contemplate life. Much of his praise is introspective and little matters outside of the pursuit of self-improvement. Sacrifices include leaving spare food and clean water at small shrines left along roads to provide for travelers in need. His priests also provide food and water at these shrines so those in need might find respite. His religious structures are little more than shrines used as mile markers. Zerairel elevates no one and yet helps them elevate themselves.
