Creatures of Ithia Expanded: The Aegrit the Fae Mourner.

An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.   

The Aegrit are humanoid fae with deathly pale skin, always feminine they have stone wings like those from the statues of angels in graveyards. Often speckled in stain glass bits, quarts, gemstones, with vines and flowers. They have curly black hair with purple and red accents. Small black flowers sprout from their hair. The Aegrit are all perfect beauties though their features are more static as if they are the final image of the resting dead. Their eyes are too large, button noses, and black lips. Their chests have a heart shaped cut out where they can take out a glowing crystal heart. The Aegrit stand six inches tall. 

The Aegrit can fly, hover, see spirits, and mend souls damaged by necromantic arts. The Aegrit can enter the underworld, reap mortal souls, and guide them to the afterlife. The Aegrit can drain life, will, and fertility. They can also animate the dead without harming the immortal soul. 

The Aegrit serve as assistants to the cycle’s death gods, mend damaged souls, lower reproduction rates of creatures when overpopulation is rampant. Aegrit help maintain the balance of nature ensuring imbalance doesn’t cause ecosystems to collapse. 

Like most Fae Aegrit are eternal and if their mortal body is destroyed, they will reappear at their designated bed. They never age and remain appearing as fresh adults, or whatever age they choose to appear as. They are highly vulnerable to Iron. Aegrit get deathly ill when exposed to places where the world is wounded, their bane is the Shadowed who feed and amplify these injuries.
