Writing Worlds with Words

Gods of Ithia Expanded: Dwar’Vic the Mountain King.

Dwar’Vic. God of Earth, Smithing, and Wind.

Known across the plane as Dwar’Vic, The Mountain King, The World Smith, The Mountain’s Calm, The First Ancestor, and The Mossbeard.

Dwar’Vic is the Leader of the Mountain Gods, The Ancestors, and The Gods of Shaping, he is a member of the Gods of Fire, Gods of Order, The Fated Crowns, The Dragon Gods, and The Gods of the Common.

Holy Books: The Book of Crown. The Gambri nuk Kunn, and The Book of Scales.

Dwar’Vic is the Father of the Tusk Dragons and the Dwar. He forged most of the divine artifacts of the Gods and the most holy of relics gifted to the mortal champions below. Dwar’Vic shaped the world over the ruins of the previous cycle.

His Symbol is The Purpose – An eye over an anvil crossed by a smithing hammer and a war hammer.

Dwar’Vic has no celestial body, his embodiment is the ground on which we stand and thus is technically always active.

Dwar’Vic’s Divine Realm is a great forge carved from a hollowed-out mountain. Lava flows about spiraling to heat his massive anvil to keep the metal from cooling off as he works. Intricate tables as large as houses are set up for his fine crafts.  Small alcoves line the walls where a candle burns for every Dwar to die, every sacred ancestor, and so many remain empty.

Dwar’Vic maintains the mighty smithing hammer Haskal which while too big for most gods to wield with any finesse he uses it to create the masterworks of the gods. It can shape the world as it did so long ago to make the beautiful lands of Ithia.

Dwar’Vic is one of the largest of Gods. He is like a rocky hill, a small mountain, with hair of flowing lava, and a long beard of moss, vines, and shrubbery. His massive hands move with surprising finesse unmatched by any other god. Stoutly built he walks with a slow lumbering gait, but his fingers are nimble and swift. His eyes are sparkling diamonds, and his teeth look like the heads of worn smithing hammers. His laughter is deep, booming, and full of cheer and often small birds’ nest upon his craggy mass.

Dwar’Vic is gentle, reserved, and not often prone to speaking. He avoids the praise and accolades of his kin and instead pursues his craft with all the care and consideration of Talisman with those in misery. He is never idle constantly shaping new pieces of the infinite plane, making weapons, tools, and armor for the Gods, and carving wood, rock, and metal into totems. He grants his divine servants the means to empower targets with immense strength, durability, and size, shape earth and stone, and summon and bind the Elementals.

Dwar’Vic is worshipped weekly by the Dwar and is beloved as he honors those of the Dwar who have fallen. He brings his flocks together, give them purpose, to be active, to do good, to be compassionate though much of his whims have started to fall on deaf ears. The Dwar are in moral decline and while they still hold up the ancestors much of the worship towards Dwar’Vic is fleeting. Sacrifices of gold are given, burned to release the trapped tears of the Ancestors. Gold in Dwar’Vic rites is absolute, used in sacrifices, ceremonies, and decorations as a sign of Ancestral support. His temples are great domed structures beneath the ground, made of a single massive slab of carved stone and decorated in gleaming metals and gemstones. He does not elevate anyone, all Dwar ancestors are elevated.

Dwar’Vic’s Values.

Pillars (Virtues)- Humility, Vigilance, Calm, Persistence, and Compassion.
