An Advanced Creature Profile by Vincent Groth.
The Dollidoo is a large flightless bird, cousin of the humble pigeon and dodo bird. The Dollidoo has clawed proto hands built into their wings, like bats, with opposable thumb claws. They sport a long sharp beak like a pick that can split stone. Males are easily marked by a raised crest like a mohawk down the middle of their heads while females have three colorful plumes that rise from their heads and droop in front of their heads. Their feet are webbed and the Dollidoo is highly buoyant. Extensive study shows that Dollidoos are not native to Ithia but possibly evolved from Concepts.
-The Common Dollidoo has soft downy green and brown feathers, stands around three feet tall, and weighs around fifty pounds.
-The Greater Northern Dollidoo has white and green feathers, larger and fluffier, stands around five feet in height and weighs a hundred and twenty pounds. Males have their crests in bright red to attract mates, females tend to have much thicker feathering on their stomachs and rears to help keep eggs insulated and warm.
-The Magidoo is small and bright blue, stands around eight inches tall, and weighing two pounds. Males are marked with large tail feathers tipped in a solid black while females have intricate eye designs on their wings to scare off egg predators.
-The Dragidoo is a hulking bird with scales and feathering color determined by draconic heritage. They stand ten feet tall and weigh over half a ton. The upper part of their bodies are covered in thick feathers while their lower halves are covered in heavy armored scales. Males and Females have similar distinctions as the Common Dollidoo. Creations of the Septrinian.
-The Deepidoo is a strange nightmarish aquatic creature that has adopted a place as apex predator deep down, though not as deep as where no light may reach. The Deepidoo has heavy armored scales along its long fish like body, fins with small spiky protrusions, a spined tail, and a large, serrated beak. Creations of the Septrinian.
The Dollidoos have similar powers for the most part Common Dollidoo, Greater Northern Dollidoos, and Dragidoos all are able to absorb sunlight and ambient energy to power their bodies, they are also all produce and store sugar from photosynthesis. Some can absorb magic, but this power is usually reserved for Magidoos. All Dollidoos are able to generate enough lift to avoid terminal velocity though can’t fly they are quite good at not getting hurt in falls. They are all also capable of mimicking sounds they hear. Dollidoos have a symbiotic relationship with a bacteria found in their blood allowing them to feed off the bird these bacteria when exposed to air release a foil stench of sulfur.
-Magidoos are able to absorb magical energy and survive off it.
-Dragidoos can breathe the element of their draconic heritage, are immensely strong, and durable.
Dollidoos seem to have no real niche in the food chain. They primarily survive off sunlight and water eating other food for nutrition rather than calories. Dollidoos are kept for the harvesting of their eggs and soft downy feathers, as they have no natural predators egg harvesting is vital to keeping their population in check. Magidoos are used as familiars by mages. Dragidoos are centers of Dollidoo colonies, protectors, and when acquired by war faring species a very viable war mount.
The Dollidoos don’t really have any weaknesses save for the same as any mortal creature. Though Dollidoos only live for a set ten years from their birth. Dragidoos and Deepidoos do not have this issue.
