Writing Worlds with Words

Books of Ithia: Holy Books.

The Book of Crowns(Common Edition): The Book that places the Fates above the Seir’Ald. Its cover holds the symbols of the three great Creator Gods the True Mother, Taclor, and Siger’Alst. One of the most circulated books across Ithia.

The Book of Suns: The Book made after the civil war that teaches the old ways of the Seir’Ald. Many rituals are preserved in its pages and is made to look like any other book, so it doesn’t stand out. It generally has a plain cover with no exterior markings and is kept by the small cults that still worship the Seir’Ald in full.

The Book of Crowns(Imperial Edition): Better known as the Buch der Kronen in the Vasser tongue. It is the only holy book allowed in the Holy Marok Empire it worships the True Mother as the only God though it is a True Mother very different from the one in Common Edition. It preaches human purity and adherence to the theocratic state of the Marok.

The Tosk Og Hal: The Greenskin holy book bound in cloth and hide painted with the writer and owner’s clan’s sigils and decorated with small trophies and marks of victory Haltheris is blessed the owner with. It ascends Haltheris as the greatest of the Gods above all others, a monolith who holds up the heavens and formed the world below by his will alone. Each of the Tosks are handmade, written by a cleric or priest of Haltheris, each letter a penance, every sentence a prayer, and every book brings glory to Haltheris. Reserved for clergy and leadership many collect them when they kill other lead Greenskins and many of the great leaders have dozens of these hand-crafted master pieces to show how blessed and favored they are.

Gambri nuk Kunn: The Dwarven holy book often bound in finest leather and edged with gold and silver. Fine silver worked into lacey patterns span the leather cover with the face of Dwar’Vic formed of polished granite studding a silver base. It speaks of the glory of Dwar’Vic, the worship of ancestors, and the importance of gold and grudges. Gold being sacred among the Dwar they rarely trade it and use of it is mostly restricted to shaping of holy objects from trim for holy books, idols, and armor for holy warriors and regalia of the blessed royalty.

The Immortal Scriptures:  The Immortal Scriptures are a collection of various books from the Elven people forming words around the place and worship of Talcor, Talisman, Vutha, Paladar, Na’Tally, and Malisara. Due to the large selection of often conflicting viewpoints the Immortal Scriptures are often contradictory of each other.

The Book of First Flame: The Book of the Vigint worshipping magic, fae spirits, and several of the Gods. It is a complicated tome with a mixture of philosophy as well as theological writings. It speaks of ways of life, dedication to family, people, and duty. It promotes the rising of the Whole over the Part.

The Scrolls Shen Haoyu: These scrolls often referred to as the Xiwang Scrolls are the ancient writings of the Monk Shen Haoyu who wrote down his philosophy, ideas, and wisdom. Followers of the Scrolls are almost as common as those who follow the First Flame. They bound and connected the people of Wei and held their resistance against the Ashike for a long time. The followers of Xiwang are closely connected and often highly disciplined. Many martial arts have used the teachings of Shen Haoyu as a base to start from.

The Book of Scales: The Book carefully made for the worship of the Dragon Gods that are Talcor, Talisman, Vutha, Paladar, Na’Tally, Malisara, Mealis, and Zatolen. It is a much more coherent book with the Dragons being less combative towards each other. The Book of Scales is a far more personal holy book as the Dragons are the children and descendants of the Dragon Gods.

The Words of Mire: The Holy Book dedicated to Mire Master of Secrets and Lies. It is often made small, able to be easily concealed in pockets and an elegant black. It teaches that Mire is the only true God, and all others are merely usurpers to Mire’s glory. Often these fine books have intricated locks that if not opened properly trigger a spring-loaded needle or blade from somewhere under the cover.

The Magenta Book: The largest of holy books with the blood lines, notes on types of Fae, the Fairy Courts from Hunters to High Queen Magenta Viilnor herself, means of worship and sacrifice. It holds all the lore one can hope for of the Fae plane.

The Unspeakable Book: These tomes are often mistaken for nonsense the runes unreadable but… the longer one studies it the more legible it becomes. It draws in the reader, alters the mind, twists thoughts, and makes one an agent of the Red Prophets.

The Tome of Heralds: This dark tome with a thin cover of wood wrapped in silk. Words in crystalized blood spell out words on the cover. It teaches the ways to summon the Heralds, to sell out your world for unimaginable power, and invite the Lords of War and Unity into your plane.

The Screaming Tome: This book made of sapient leather, the words written in old blood and ink, the yellowed pages crumble at the touch and when opened it lets out a wail that only those who have read the words of the Flayed Ones can hear. It talks of the death of worlds and the end of times. That nothing lasts forever and energy from dying worlds must be spent to create something new.

The Tome of the Deep: The Tome of the Deep is made of waxed paper pages treated to survive the deep waters or the surface. The Words preach the wisdom of the Depthless the great outsiders who dwell in the depths of the water or space. The Dark Twisted Gods of far-off planes who spread madness and colors unseen by mortal eyes. The Depthless offer gifts, treasures, power, and immortality.

The Words of Serpent Tongues: These tomes are made of shed serpent skins lacquered together. Pages of thin leather written in strange foreign languages that are readable regardless. It speaks of the Halok snake gods who offer power in exchange for service.

The Black Grimoire: The Book of Miecara Pagan God, Once Lord of the Fae Court of Death, the Black Grimoire is a book many of the Gods fear as Miecara power grows every cycle and slowly undermines the Gods above.
