Abominations are monstrous, gendered humanoids, or creatures that have no native comparison. They are the most diverse in appearance and often the deadliest.
The Kurag are a large apex horror with heavy chitin over thick leathery hides. Their natural armor is almost on par with plate mail. Possessing a terrible screech that renders humans paralyzed Kurag emit a toxic cocktail of chemicals from their mouths that causes a vertigo and attacks the mind like alcohol. These large humanoid apex predators swallow their prey whole as their bones are designed to shift, and their jaws can unhinge.
Gavinblight are large claw-tipped winged monstrosities with large gaping mouths, and a spiked ridge along their spine. Their long whip like tails have small spiny hairs that secret a numbing agent while their bite is septic.
Dreamcatchers are huge horrors that float in the sky rounded at the top their sides and bottom bleed into tentacles that float beneath them. They feed off good and bad dreams, nightmares, and leave only empty restless sleep. One of the few Horrors not openly aggressive they mainly weaken foes by denying them rest.
Baround are strange doglike horrors with snouts filled with too many teeth, spikes along their back, legs ending in clawed hooves, and a taloned rear digit. They have a serpentine tail ending in a bulging end with a large eye where their brains also sit allowing them far more durability when attacking as nothing vital rests in their heads.
Bilegasps are large horrors with the underbelly a slug like mass with smooth carapace on top. Along their bellies small spiney legs propel it forward through their underground domain. They have no eyes and very small mouths with dozens of spikes covering the front of their maw. They have long arms designed to launch their mass towards prey like a giant spiked meat mallet. They can spit acid and exhale a toxic gas that causes victims to bleed from their eyes and cause their lungs to fill with blood.
Horrid Gazer are large creatures with large eyes; a massive maw splits the bottom half of their orblike bodies in two and they use a long rough tongue to wrap and drag food into its maw. Horrid Gazers have a small selection of secondary eyes on tentacles with many other tentacles extending from the opposite side of its eye. Small arms with pincers allow it to tear up prey easier when eating. Their Gaze can be weaponized causing forgetfulness, loss of motor skills, and confusion.
Trapdoor Horrors are large scorpion like monsters with almost humanoid heads. They have instead of scorpion legs what looks to be mannequinesque arms carrying them forward. They stride the underground places and burst from the ground to viciously attack victims. Their thick bodies have three long spiked tails with the central aimed to inject victims with acid directly into prey. The Trapdoor Horror is blind and relies on sound and vibrations to hunt.
Marghast are large floating orbs covered in metal plates bolted in place. They have no eyes but possess a large gaping maw and tentacles ending in various metal hooks and spikes bolted into place. They try to hook onto organic creatures and tear them to bits.
Abominable Watchers are a collection of bones, many skulls, with a rotting Jacko lantern on what it uses for shoulders. Long roots and weeds hold it together with whatever weapons it can find weaved into its body. They carry themselves forward on a selection of long roots and vines like a giant drider of bone and rot.
Starghast are rare massive hulking nightmares with long bodies that look to be twisted sinuous muscle, large heads with barbed tendrils writhing from their maws and large spiked tusks surrounding the sides of their heads like starbursts. A boney plate rises up over the top of their beaked heads and they pulse through the air on long spiked tipped tentacles like a squid through water. The Starghast spew forth radiation often mistaken for searing light. Often Starghasts are used as the mount of Sultria’s current champion.
