Holy Books: The Book of Crowns, The Tosk og Hal, The Magenta Book, and The Book of Scales.
A mortal soul from the previous cycle who clawed his way from the void, dragging Ondra with him, and crushed the life out of Tormoth with his bare hands taking his divinity and domains. During the civil war of the Gods Zatolen broke the Seir’Ald as the Champions of the Fates but coming to the Decision that neither side was right broke the power of Talcor and Siger’Alst becoming the Chief of the Gods. He slew Daltmot for conspiring with the Gods of Malice to lead The Bull God to murder his sister the Bunny Goddess. When Tasmar Orindus broke the treaty against slaying of Gods in the War of Gods keeping to his promise to the True Mother to never slay one of his siblings again turned the vile God’s greatest champion and trained him to slay his former master. Zatolen has set up the laws of the Gods that prevent them from meddling too much on the mortal world. He also grants protection to those who do not worship any of the Gods. Father God of Humanity and Husband of Mealis their love created mankind, and their differences made them varied and diverse.
His Symbol is the Horned Cross – a vertical line crossed by a small crescent at the bottom with a longer line at the top, which resembles an inversely proportioned anchor.
When active on Ithia, Zatolen Celestial body is the Scarlet Star, a bright scarlet light that stands above Mealis’ Caress.
Zatolen’s Divine realm is a large mixture of palace and hunting lodge with large log exterior walls and wooden panels inside. Great stone floors are covered in rugs and hand carved furniture. His home is always full of life either hordes of his Celestial, immortal, or mortal servants, children, adopted family, and his many hounds. It is a cozy place with signs of the kids he has raised and loved spread across the network of laws. His throne room is long with two great thrones placed equally on the raised dais. Trophies of Mealis and Zatolen surround the thrones, one bleached from Mealis’ presence, from great beasts Zatolen created to challenge himself, or trophies of challenges Mealis is faced and overcome. While decor around the thrones is all about those who sit upon them on the opposing side where those who sit will gaze are the trophies and triumphs of their children that grow out in spirals save for two that have far less than either and remain a scar that will never grow.
Zatolen maintains one artifact of power known as The Prophet of the Weak a deadly morning star with long spiked fingers that point accusing fingers out in all directions but inward. It is a weapon that spreads guilt, shame, and fear into those who see it, causing more pain to those who have denied their own accountability. In physical enchantment it is one of the most powerful divine weapons.
Zatolen appears to Humanity as a pale, handsome, paternal figure his hair long, black, and bleeding into shadow at the edges. A fine beard covers his face in a thin delicate goatee, along with an eternal smirk. He has marble-white skin, tall, moderately muscled, with callused hands. His eyes burn Scarlet with enough Falmill to them to burn like a star going supernova. Zatolen keeps a clean appearance but as he often has adopted children about there are often signs of mess from caring for them. He is hardly ever portrayed without his three favorite hounds he made Demi-Gods, Siegfried his demi-god Dollidoo, or in embrace and or conflict with Mealis.
Zatolen takes the form of a Dragon when he wills it and is worshipped in this form by the Dragons as Ziamvikosis. This great three headed dragon with scales of scarlet and shadow waits in eternal sleep for a worthy challenge to take his place as God of Power.
The Dreite portray Zatolen as Dakou, a powerful, well built, jackal headed man adorned in iron and bronze jewelry. He is branded in ancient Dreite runes from before their civilization was broken.
The Greenskins portray him as Troskraam a great six-armed ogre with large tusks. Gem-eyed skulls are bound to his belt, his body is covered in piercings, studs, and gemstones. He is the only God willing to play the part for the Greenskins.
Zatolen is calm, soft-spoken, a man who enjoys verbal sparring, a collector of those who have lost or been lost, a man terrified of the monster he could become, and at heart a husband and father. Zatolen having far more emotions than most Gods having once been mortal and from a more advanced time in a previous cycle he has more modern ideals. He does his best to steer people towards something better than tenant farms, cities packed with bodies and waste, terror of the monsters who stalk the world outside walls. He surrounds himself in Dogs who owners have died and having no one else who wants them are taken into Zatolen’s realm. He adopts the children and forsaken lovers of his fellow Gods often abandoned after short flings and tries to take a paternal role with the younger deities. He is full of regrets and sorrow for the loss of his daughter the Bunny Goddess and having failed his son the Bull God. He struggles against malicious gods to make this world better than it is. He grants his divine followers the power to channel negative energy and empower the body, spirit, and mind. Ziamvikosis is merely Zatolen’s dragon form and thus worshippers gain Zatolen’s gifts.
Dakou is a proud keeper of lore, ritual, and knowledge of the Dreite people which the centuries have eroded and the Evari have worked to erase. He is the breaking of chains, freedom from the whip, and a standing up from kneeling far too long. He grants his divine followers the power to channel negative energy, manipulate shadow, shed blood, protect against binding magic, and recall the memories of your ancestors.
Troskraam is a jovial warrior and symbol of pride, protection, and care of a Champion, of a father. He grants his divine servants the power to channel fire and protect and empower the mind, body, and spirit.
Zatolen is worshipped by many species, though he does discourage worship many still do so. He is a pursuit for power, he is strength in difference, he is the alloy and thus many seek him out. One of the few Gods who will answer to calls from people outside his clergy. His worshippers gather on Revansday to socialize, share burdens, triumphs, fears, hopes, and dreams. Most worship is performed before sleep, a private intimate moment with the great father. The Norgathi made a grand cathedral for him but when they tried to christen it with a sacrifice of a demi-god child of Mealis he struck it down and burried it beneath the earth. A time to unburden the soul and clear the mind. Zatolen’s temples are mostly hidden away or simple repurposed structures. People sacrifice blood, bleeding out purity and letting in Zatolen’s corruption granting strength and power. Saints include Dirk Wesser, Vimsar the Red, Steris Victoria,Timar Steelheart, and Slynna Luni.
Dakou is worshipped in small underground temples where the Evari hopefully will not find. He is their rebellion, their hope, their freedom.
Troskraam is worshipped in frenzied bloodletting in open fields most often before battles. Troskraam has one saint being Taktok the Gilded Flame.
