His symbol is the Dead Crown – A crown of blooming roses and bloodied thorns knitted together into a crown.
When active on Ithia, the planet Drei shows in the northeast of the sky a large mirror black planet visible in the heavens. If one looks at it deep enough it is said one can see the those they’ve lost in its reflection.
Dreous’ Divine realm includes Cistern a sprawling cityscape where the souls of the dead dwell and seek to earn reincarnation. This is where Dreous’ palace is. Above Cistern is the paradise Viwrath for the most loyal and faithful of each God to dwell. Vigil is where Marlis dwells. Below Cistern is Wrecca where the mortal souls of the damned who lacking protection of a God have committed great and terrible acts against others. It is possible for those who learn to feel true regret and seek inner redemption to rise to Cistern, Wrecca is home to Kaxis. Below Wrecca is the great Chasm where the physical forms of the Seri’Ald who fought against the Fates are bound diminishing their influence. Avernus sees over the Chasm and guards the prison there.
Dreous does not require trinkets and does not maintain any relics.
Dreous’ form changes based on culture and species but never from its basic form. He is a towering shadow composed of the parts of every mammal and reptile on Ithia, or at least culturally significant to those who view him.
Dreous is a patient, cunning, and vicious deity who, once wronged, rarely forgets the trespasses against him. He rules over Viwrath, the underworld where the dead souls live until they earn the right to reincarnate to the mortal world. He grants his divine servants blessings to protect the dead from necromancy, purifying magic to cleanse corpses from disease, and magic to calm angry spirits and disrupt the undead.
Dreous is worshipped by the Dreite, those worried about the next stage of life, and those who work in occupations that intersect with death often. His worshippers come together on the last day of each month to see it on to the next. Once He was worshipped in great stone pyramids but now, he is often worshipped in small temples with shrines to various gods. Some Dreite maintain familiar shrines and a few taverns worship the memories of those who have gone in Dreous’ name. Dreous has his concubines of the Pale Priestesses a large selection of albino jackal women all blessed as his high priestesses at some point in time. All masters of death.
