Some say Marian was the first of the Gods to form in this cycle, some say she is the most powerful of the Gods as only through her can the other Gods create life, make descendants gods, and make from them the mortal races. From Marian the gift of creation flows to gods and mortals a like. The sparks are split so that two must unify to create new life. Two Gods must combine their power to bear a new God from intercourse to the binding of spilled blood the combination of two Gods forms a new one. It takes two gods dedicated power to form a new race though some Gods circumvented this by warping the creations of others like Haltheris. Marian is rarely active on the mortal coil and she is become reclusive as her children fight and slay one another. She drowns in tears having come too sick to continue to watch what her love has been turned into. She weeps for the children who die, for the ones who suffer, for the ones who have grown cold and hateful. She still loves all she has helped make but she can’t watch the suffering any longer.
Her Symbol is the Eye of Mari – an open eye with three tears falling from it symbolizing that while the mother weeps for the lost her eye is ever vigilant for those who still live.
When active on Ithia, which is rare, The True Mother’s influence is marked by the Planet Merribell a great white marble in the sky larger than either remaining moon. When active it sits in the center of the sky above the middle of whatever section of the plane one is observing it from.
