The Norgad or Norgathi people originating from the Lands of Maria, city state of Sterrenstad once ruled by the Scharlaken family. Ethnic Norgathi have pale skin, red, scarlet, purple, or orange eyes, black, brown, or silver hair, and are taller but slimmer than average for Plains Humans. The Norgathi were made of the Sterrenman, with political exiles from a multitude of other cultures. There are very few pure ethnic Sterrenman left the mixture of Sterrenman, Evari, Fierian, Margothi, Markorathi, Olysisian, Ghalt, Danadane, Dumonte, Calites, and Harstalli combining into the modern Norgathi.  

The Norgathi keep their food blander than Evari, but enjoy a wide range of cuisine from the many combinations of cultures forming Norgad. The Norgathi are the only human government that maintains a full democracy, with fully elected leadership. A strong ally of the Evari they technically fall under the reign of the Empire though few would try to impose that upon the Norgathi. The Norgathi maintain the great Wormway across the Empire, have the largest quantity of alchemists on the plane, are the most advanced human society, and are dedicate to Zatolen and his philosophy. Highly independent, hardworking, and dedicated Norgathi inventions have helped stablize the empire and is one of the largest trade empires on the continent even though its landlocked and at the edge of the Empire. 

The Norgathi maintain as few laws as required allowing society to function as freely as possible. Laws are solely meant to protect the people from the abuses of government and brute violence. They are primarily worshippers of Zatolen and are one of the few Plains Human cultures that downplay Mealis. Much of the social power in Norgad is in the industrial barons and Alchemist guild leadership though the government ensures basic human rights for citizens with the political, resource, and religious power the Zatolite clergy wields. They build large tenements, well made, insulated, but often quite small. Towering smokestacks fill the horizon and armed soldiers patrol streets as law keeping is maintained by military police. The Norgathi enjoy maintain museums, strange and magnificent toys of metal and wood, puppetry, plays, tableaux vivant. 

The Norgathi believe in a strong work ethic, industry, and freedom. The Norgathi have a highly stable, diverse, and efficient industrial state. They produce large quantities of highly valued stone, high quality alchemical supplies, black powder, and high purity steel. The Norgathi rely on a mixture of light flintlock rifles and light dragoons to spread terror across the battle fields. The Norgathi population is relatively small compared to most nations but has a large quantity of Zatolites empowered by his blessed corruption. Norgathi provide a lot of mercenary and formal military alliance forces to the Evari auxiliaries for those willing to use the power of the black magic powder. 

The Norgathi are one of the most prominent users of the Evari trade roads and Evari ports. With their help the Evari barely keep the empire from complete collapse with economic power projection.  

The Norgathi maintain powerful alliances with the Norish and Evari and the three have entwinned so thightly they can almost no longer function separately. The Norgathi have a small fierce industrialized army, a powerful industry to provide supplies, and heavy artillery which they can devaste enemy siege engines before they ever reach Norgathi walls.
