Kobolds were originally made by the Red Dragons who found Orphans and fed them their blood. They made them their children and other dragons saw a means to make servants. Kobolds remain childlike in mentality for most of their lives though can become serious if needed to or commanded too. Some Kobold breeds are magical mutations of the original five or crossbreeds. Kobolds are generally not aggressive unless threatened or compelled by their master.
The Ascended Kobold are said to originate from the eggs of Septrinian injected with dragonblood. Shorter and stouter than most Kobolds they are natural arcanists have a mute almost grey green scaling. Ascended Kobolds wield great arcane power, possessing natural draconic magic, can breathe various elements, and dual-cast spells with their Septrinian-like minds.
The Greater Kobold are a magical mutation of Kobolds who spend too much time in high magic areas. Greater Kobolds are twice the size of the average Kobold, with small spikes on their back, reddish scales, white bellies, and black spots. Greater Kobolds are reclusive making their own cities in places away from other sapient creatures. They enjoy farming and making peaceful lives for themselves.
The Crested Kobold are a magically augmented species of Kobold, slightly taller than other Kobolds, they have thicker scales and superior strength compared to other kobolds. Crested Kobolds are often used to protect Kobold communities having been fed more Dragons blood.
The War Kobold are magically altered Kobolds with thicker scales, denser muscle, and thick horns. Altered by the Septrinian as cheap warriors the War Bolds are the most aggressive Kobold species, are highly territorial, and vicious.
The Low-Land Kobold are believed to have been an attempt by mages to alter Kobolds to better serve non-dragons. Marked by their long rabbit-like ears, shorter snouts with more humanoid features, they are slightly more aggressive than typical Kobolds but enjoy non-violent tasks.
The Plains Kobold are a different rendition of the Low-Land Kobold with their long ears. Most easily identified by the diamond shaped spikes on their tail. Plains Kobolds are less aggressive and more servile often shy and will often try to serve whatever creature is most threatening.
The Aqua Kobold are strange kobolds having been fed the Blood of a Zalrend. They have fins, webbed claws, and finned tail used to propel them through water rapidly. They have soft aquatic scales and small spikes along the top of their snout and head.
The Elfling Kobold have a pinkish scale color and are made by Red Elves altering Red Kobolds. The least aggressive Kobold breed they are naturally adept in healing, make excellent ladies made for dragonesses and elves, and are the shyest species.
The Red Kobold are the first breed of kobold made, created by feeding orphans the blood of a Red Dragon who have a natural maternal or paternal instinct to care for the weak and abandoned. Red Kobolds are cheerful, well treated, and serve as the beloved children of their dragon maker. They have bright red scales with tan bellies and pronounced horns.
The Green Kobold are made of children fed the blood of a Green Dragon. Often spiteful the Green Dragons originally made their kobolds in a jealous rage believing the Reds shouldn’t have more servants than they. Green Kobolds have toxic saliva and bright green scales with yellow-green bellies.
The Black Kobold are made of children who Black Dragons found worthy of their blessed Blood. Embodying the father of the Black Dragons the Black Kobolds are tricksters and rouges with venomous bites. The Black Kobold have a soft night-grey scale color and bright white eyes that allow them to see at night.
The White Kobold are made from white Dragon Blood are highly organized, orderly, and intelligent. White Kobolds are rare but make good assistants for the busy keeping schedules and helping plan. White Kobolds are often used as a commodity where other Dragon species buy White Kobolds for their usefulness.
The Coalbolds are what happens when a child is fed the blood of a Tusk Dragon. They have grey scales with coal black stomachs. They have starburst scales around their head, their tails have a spade-like head and a dense muscle mass for tunneling through earth along with their large, webbed claws for removing loose earth. They make tunnels packing in earth with their powerful tails.
The Spiney Kobold are crossbreeds between Coalbolds and Black Kobolds. They have black-grey scales, white bellies and faces, more pronounced horns, and long spiny hairs along their spine. Spiney Kobolds are as hardy as Coalbolds and as deviously cunning as Black Kobolds.
The Sharptail Kobold are crossbreeds between Coalbolds and White Kobolds. They have bright white scales with thicker black-gold scales on their back, shoulders, and the top of their tails. Their tails have a long keratinous blade they keep sharp.
The Slimebold are strange creatures involving any kind of Kobold and a suddenly very confused, surprised, and dead Horrite. These Kobolds been used as an organic mass to create a Horror but retain their sapience due to their draconic blood. Made of living acidic slime they try to continue their lives the best they can.
