Writing Worlds with Words

Creatures of Ithia: Orks.

Orcs are a Greenskin species made mostly of humanoid species. They are generally tall, athletic, and front-line fighters. Females of the species tend to be extremely attractive, hoping that if the Horde is broken, they will be taken as wives, and the Horde will continue. Males of the species grow continuously until their hearts can’t support their bulk. *The Horde is the large population density of Greenskins who share an empathic link. They cannot feel emotions or thoughts from fellow Greenskins but can feel their presence. Without many Greenskin minds close enough to feel this link, many will feel small and empty, lose focus, and have a drowning sense of anxiety. This sensation will grow until their hearts give out, or they return to a large population.

Okgol: A larger feral breed of Orc made of mushroom-infested corpses. Okgol are ungendered and reproduce by their blood spilling on corpses. The Okgol is large, dim, and monstrous. They have maws with too many teeth to speak coherently and are not intelligent enough to do so if possible. Okgol can function outside of the Horde.

Orc: The most common Orc species made of wicker mannequins. Orcs have green skin and dark hair, and males are usually malformed. Female Orcs are more intelligent than their male counterparts but still subhuman and have a slim chance of becoming arcane adepts. Female Orcs can survive outside of the Horde.

Horned Orc: Made by Orcs who have been fed the blood of a Cyclops or Ogre. Slightly larger than normal Orcs, they sport large curling horns and lighter skin, making the males less malformed. All Horned Orcs have access to magic and are used to protect the horde from enemy spellcasters. They can survive outside of the Horde for limited periods of time.

Orc Broodmother: A female Orc fed the blood of Haltheris. Broodmother Orcs can produce multiple Orcs at once or large litters of Goblins. They have tannish skin with green splotches, cannot function outside of the Horde, and require help to survive daily life.

Minokreed: The largest breed of Orc made from bovine. Minokreeds are large, heavy-set orks with smaller horns, more prominent ears, tails, and hooves, serving as heavy shock troops, light siege troops, and heavy laborers. They cannot survive outside of the horde.

Tork: A halfbreed of Trolls and Ork. Tall, lithe, mint green creatures with large pointed ears and white hair. Torks have incredible stamina, minor regeneration, and gills. They are very good at holding formations and outlasting opposing forces. They cannot last outside of the Horde.

Terokreed: A Grey Ork species made from Everon. Grey-skinned with feathering along their backs and arms, their bodies have been severely warped. They have long, sharp beaks, clawed hands, and taloned feet. Terokreed have tattered wings spreading from their arms and can leap large distances and glide. The Terokreed harass enemy forces and are used to break formations. They can not function outside of the Horde.

Gnokreed: A Grey Ork species made from Dreite. Houndlike humanoids coated in fur, save for their bellies, chests, and faces. Grey-skinned with flatter faces and stub-nosed muzzles. Gnokreed are raiders and skirmish troops. Swift and self-sufficient, they are used to cut off supply lines, raid farms, forage for supplies, scout, and harass flanks. They can function outside of the Horde for limited periods.

Vilkreed: A Grey Ork species made from elves. Grey-skinned, tall, lithe, venomous fangs, and sporting horns like a gazelle. Vilkreed are very intelligent, retaining their original elf species’ magical or psionic abilities. They serve as arcanists, strategists, and overseers of smaller Orc groups. They cannot survive outside the Horde.

Roukreed: A Grey Ork species made from the dwar. Grey-skinned, large, brutish with prominent tusks. Roukreed are very stout, serving as mobile cover for other orcs as they trudge forward. While Minokreed are taller, Roukreed are the widest. They cannot survive outside of the horde.

Urkreed: A Grey Ork species made from Humans. Grey-skinned humanoids with small tusks and the least monstrous Ork species. The Urkreed are the only female-dominant Greenskin species. The Urk lead the Grey and Green Orks, having the most aggressive and dominated leaders. They are cunning and vicious, bold, and intelligent. Urk can exist outside the Horde for limited periods.

Armakreed: A Grey Ork species made from Septrinian. The rarest species in the Horde besides Cyclops. Armakreed have grey skin covered in splotches of black-grey scales. A large, heavy layered shell, tusks in a warped dog-like head, and clawed hands. Sporting the unmatched mind of a Septrinian with centuries of amassed knowledge. They can completely block out Haltheris’ whims and often continue with their previous wants within the Horde. They can exist outside the Horde with no ill effect at all.

Orri: Demi-god Orks, the chosen mates of Haltheris made his personal Guard and enforcers of his will. On the mortal coil, they serve as high priestesses, royal guards, and sorcerers, raining death down upon those who attack the Horde’s heartlands. They can exist outside the Horde but are more susceptible to Haltheris’ moods.

Pale Ork: These albino orks sport a single off-center horn and black eyes with fiery irises are the resurrected corpses of Ork heroes reformed by Haltheris’ blood and bone. They are incredibly powerful and serve as Avatars of Haltheris’ will. There have been only a handful of Pale Orks throughout Ithian history, as Haltheris’ paranoia makes him unlikely to grant mortals such power.
